I think Nick Suzuki is emerging as the best player of Japanese ancestry to ever play for the Habs.
Considering he's a fifth-generation Japanese Canadian the only Japanese thing left about him is his last name. He doesn't even look Japanese. He has never learned or spoken a single word of Japanese and has never been to Japan. By the way his grandfather is the cousin of Canadian icon David Suzuki.

Hard to believe this old war horse is still in the league. Reminds me of Patrick Marleau, who was signed a few years ago by the Maple Leafs for veteran leadership and gave them about a half season of decent/solid hockey before doing his best cadaver imitation. Perry is playing the same role with the Habs that Marleau played with the Leafs, hopefully with better results. At 35, he is a few years younger than Marleau was when the Leafs got him. Although looking at Perry's stats the last few years, he looks like he is a shot 35 with maybe only a few drops of gas left in the tank. He is there to mentor the Suzukis and Kotkienimis.
oh ya habs definitely for real after 25 years of pain i think this team will be a legitimate contender that being said theres still a long way to go so lets support our team they are really looking good go habs go
I'm curious which Flames team will show up tonight. The one who was terrible in game 1 and the entire 1st period against the Leafs? Or the one which dominated periods 2 and 3 in their second game against Toronto? In that first period the other night it looked like the Leafs were playing against a junior B hockey team but i don't know what the coach told them during the intermission but the Flames were a completely different team from the second period on, totally dominating play. Johnny Gaudreau is a heck of a hockey player & Mathew Tkachuk is probably the NHL's most hated player! And their new goalie Jakob Markstrom is possibly one of the league's top 15 goaltenders. For the habs, yes. But in the NHL, no. The great Paul Kariya, a third-generation Japanese-Canadian holds this distinction. Although he had to retire prematurely due to post-concussion problems he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame three years ago.
Oh yeah! Kariya was a great player! Just sad he got badly hit by the famous Scott Stevens from the Devils. Same thing happened to Lindros and quite few players in the NHL. Hard to imagine this kind of hit was considered "legal".
Well! Tyler Myers gave similar hit to Armia a week ago and got only 5min penality and NO fucking suspension! Duck tape league!
