J’ai regardé son but à quelques reprises. De toute beauté, de la vitesse pure.

I think Newhook should be Mayor of Montreal. He is coming off a disappointing 26 point season and is eager to show it's not who he is. So far, he is a much better .75 point per game player.

Regarding Demidov: can we just fast forward to the Calder/Rookie of the Year award and give it to him now? I really see no reason to wait until the end of the season. I mean 12 games, 10 points, his pace is 68 points, but I think he will step it up and what competition does he have really?

Mouaip, il pouvait faire mieux. J'suis d'accord.

Demidov is only 19 years old, soon 20.

I was at the game on Saturday and the atmosphere was INSANE!!!! Never experienced anything quite like that at a sporting event. I am from Vancouver and the only game I have ever experienced like that in that market was game 6 of the 1994 finals. I am now spoiled for life.

As for the team, it is clear all the young players projected talent is coming to fruition. Suzuki and Caufield are on the cusp of becoming bonafide superstars and Hutson, Schlavkovsky and Demidov are well on their way. The only real dog on the team so far this year is Dobson. Been terrible in his own end and made minimal offensive impact. He might come around but early returns have not been good.

As for goaltending, I like Dobes over Montembeault. Better skill set, better reflexes. Still, they make a great tandem and should be utilized as such.

They seem to be able to score their way out of trouble but they give up a lot of fast break and off man chances. They also start and finish strong but have lulls mid game. They can get away with that with lesser teams but the top teams will make them pay.

Overall, I think they are a strong team and well on their way to being contenders, if they can maintain their current course and cleaning up their deficiencies.

He was a 70 point defenseman just 2 years ago with NYI (their first one since Denis Potvin in 1984), but his early production has indeed been far below that. Perhaps it is the adjustment to playing a new system with new pairings on a new team. At age 25, you would think his best days are still ahead of him.

At least he has a hot American wife, who is a sports reporter from Rhode Island.

Thats the key for the Habs, not stubbornly bet on Monty as the definite #1.

Absolutely and thats why I still see them fighting until the last games to make the playoffs.

Thats what Marty Saint-Louis says, still in adjustment mode, I hope he’s right. And besides the last game, him and Matheson were playing very strong minutes defensively.

I don’t worry. He very probably won’t have stellar numbers like he did in the past just because he’s not on PP1.
Can’t break the actual combination.

Some Habs players are starting to show serious numbers in the stats column.

Besides the obvious Suzy and Caufield, our pair of rookies are battling for the Calder, Demidov with 13 points and Kapanen with 6 goals! And now Newhook and Dach with respectively 6 and 5 goals. If these 2 are starting to, finaly play to the expectations due to their rank sélections, fans at the Bell Center can hope for a lot of fun nights.

The rest of the league will have to consider the Habs as one of the hardest team to play against.

Team ranking is good at the moment. First in division. Second in Eastern Conference. Third in the league.

Individual stats are also very good for many.

The current management team have put together a very good young core that has gotten/is getting experience and growing together. I think they are getting closer to being a Stanley Cup contender. I think they will be very good for the next 6-10 years.

Dobes is #4 among NHL goalies in the all important save % stat and the Habs need to stop splitting time between him and "Monty" and install Dobes as the main man goalie getting the lion's share of the starts:

I already said this once before- make him the main man goalie!
