Will the Dow hit 20,000 again in the next 4 years?
Will gold hit 1, 500 this year ?
Looks like euphoria over a prosperous business climate with Trump`s election is being replaced by uncertainty about his ability to make intelligent decisions.
The doomsday clock being moved 30 seconds closer to midnight is a bad omen that is scaring many investors.

That is very good question indeed. The market does not like incertitude. And right now for sure many small and big companies are starting to put on hold some projects, all adopting a wait and see attitude. This is really bad... At the same time the market is usually doing the opposite of what people think ;)

Because of a complete reorganization (thanks Trudeau!) I had to pull out all my investment out of the market a few months ago. Now I would be ready to re-enter the market but I am hesitating. I dont want to buy when it's at an all time high just before what I suspect will be major collapse! Trump gives me doubt... Advice needed here!

Cheers,

Precious metal pricing should sore this year me think .... The drought cycle has passed and investors will park some money in precious metal awaiting for others to show sign of soaring. I think mining will start going as soon as investors put money in the industry. My thoughts.

In my opinion an intelligent decision has a positive outcome as intended to, and not one that has unforeseen consequences that lead to a negative outcome.
An example of an intelligent decision is that of Kennedy with the Cuban missile crisis.

Its been a while since there 's been a intelligent decision then. Most of the merbites where probably not alive to live the stress of that High tension situation

A movie was actually made on it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteen_Days_(film)

What I am really looking to see is how the realestate market will react to Trump's Presidency ,at moment is to soon to say https://www.mashvisor.com/blog/buyers-market-or-sellers-market/

As for bad decision for realestate investors Jim Flaherty takes the poll position http://www.straight.com/news/financ...-intervene-amortization-period-home-mortgages

You are right Booker
Intelligent decisions by most US presidents since Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln are rare and far between.
Roosevelt made some good ones as did Reagan.
Nixon made mostly bad ones but one very good one when he opened the door to China.

Still too early to judge Trump, he couldd calm down or become more impulsive.

Everyone is waiting.

There was no social media back then. The newspaper and daily tv news had a first priority of telling the news following a strict journalistic protocol.

There will never be an intelligent politic decision anymore. And the one that best understood that is Trump. He and his chief strategist told the media to fuck off last week...

Trump did not win the popular vote for two main reasons, in order of importance

1. California
2. New York

the rest of the states told the real story of who they wanted as POTUS, but it does not matter, he won by the rules set in place under the electoral college, fair and square.

There is your lesson for the day, libby's ;)

The left can not figure that out, what Trump is doing now was in his campaign. It is very easy to see ( for some ) that the media is against Trump.
Bill Clinton wanted to build a Mexico border wall and was cheered, Obama stopped Iraq immigrants for 6 months and no one complained, Mexico has a wall on the Guatemala border and no one cares, Obama forced Canada to pay 2 billion for the Detroit / Windsor bridge no one cared. Read the " news " this morning that some are pissed off that Trumps daughter was dressed nice in an evening gown about to go to a social gathering, news reported that people were upset because she was dressed to the 9's and others were starving..... really? The media / government wants to control how you think, speak and act.

Cloudsurf,

You are a very clever guy - the two Trumped threads were closed but you figured out a way to bring this debate back into the MERB consciousness.

I think there are many factors effecting the market that go far beyond Trump. Like all of you guys I have money invested in mutual funds and am anxious to see what will happen.

Well from what I understood, Trump's current madness and reason for telling the media to shut up, for this illegal vote issue and this crazy 3 months ban (which was not in his program from what I recall) is because he his pissed about the popular vote issue... If that is true we should be really scared from the shit he can do. Why the fuck should he care so much about the popular vote? He won! He should move on and dish that off. But no his fucking ego will not accept that he is not the most popular...

Cheers,

I think we can seriously discuss this without having the thread shut down again.

For that I would suggest all to avoid using the word "left" and "right" in all your post here. And I swear I will no more use the work "fuck" on my side ;)

This is an interesting video, well worth the 6 min of your time.

As for stocks, I do not buy a huge amount worth but what I have are blue chip stocks ( Proctor & Gamble plus Johnston & Johnston ), will not make me ultra rich but they are working and I will not sell and I do not change them often, If I do I take out maybe 15% and reinvest if I get a soild tip for short term. Not much of a trader but an old boss of mine gives me tips once in awhile.
