I have helped my Family.

A few SPs with Gift Cards and Grocery Delivery...Love & Support.

I’m just hoping, as People, we are doing our very best.
I just want to believe in the Good of People.

Nice post. I help my parents as they are in full quarantine. As for other help I am not in a position to do much as I need to think about my kids first.

I have helped my wife to move and setup her office from downtown to home.
Helped my sister-in-law by making food for her. She's home with terminal cancer.

Damn, I swear I am becoming dyslexic as I grow older.

I misread the question, and so my no vote should be a yes.

I've helped, sister, parents, neighbour and I have mentioned to my 70+ year old friend to let me know when he runs out of groceries and last but not least my friend who has two kids and her work is closed. She said she was worried about having enough money to buy groceries. I told her to sleep well at night and not to worry about that, I can buy her groceries no problem at all.

Yup, took SP to grocery shopping and gave her rent money even though she didn't do anything for me....she looks like a mess anyways, physically and mentally...not sure if I want to do her. Did it out of pity...not sure this can sustain in the long term...feel like throwing money into bottomless pit. Didn't even say thank you; scrammed out as soon as she got the cash :( Avoided me as if I were the COV-SARS-II virus. Probably won't be a next time.

Sent Some etransfer even if I don’t know if the escalator will get back down...
Anyway, she has enough to go through all that shit.

Now, if I help an SP, I feel responsible to help anyone around me in need.

I will ask an old friend if he needs support.
I have another one which has mental illnesses. He doesn’t have phone so I’ll have to pay a visit but not a close one.
Finally my senior neighbour told me he will be ok for this week but I will do grocery for him. He left me his phone number.

I’ve done pretty much everything that has been asked of me
Lots of love and lots and lots of grocery bags delivered to those that weren’t able
Even helped move a couple of old relatives in the beginning to another building so they wouldn’t get exposed .... and only to later find some of them talking to their new neighbors like their was no tomorrow . Well one can only do so much ,,,you can’t police them :/

Being in self isolation/quarantined is not easy , so to be honest these day’s I don’t mind it as I actually look forward to helping/making a delivery to those people I care about ,,, it also helps to get out if only briefly as I’m climbing the walls at times

Been trying to collect N95 masks and sending them to family & friends who r frontline medical professionals in the US. Most of the stuff I sent is unused but expired. Still, they hv been happy to get them. The situation is dire w/ hospitals telling their staff to reuse masks. If anyone has extra N95 masks (even expired), pls donate them to yr local hospital.

So many people are in need that it's hard deciding who and how much support to give. All I've given so far is money but I'm reaching my limit. I've also had 2 close relatives die from the virus - both in Long Island, NY. One was my godmother who was 87. It's sad since I haven't seen her in several years and she wasn't allowed visitors once she entered the ICU. Sad way to go -- ALONE.

Sorry for your loss bignasty
What makes this Covid-19 so hard is the way that people end up dying in ICU’s , ALONE ... nobody to hold you , to encourage you to keep fighting on or even to say goodbye

I know someone who has his mom in a long care facility and hasn’t been able to see or speak to her since a long time now
Many stories out there of lost goodbyes , heartbreak and grief and unfortunately many more to come :(

A thread from last year, but is anyone still helping out any gals during these times, I support one with all her grocery, uber eats, I give her some cash as well here and there. I know things can be slow. I have seen her for many years so I don't have a probleming helping out.
