I'm sad I missed it. I will have to try and stay there once before it goes. Funny, I don't remember this place being recommended on MERB but it sounds great. I didn't notice a date for the demolition? It does look nice for 166$/night. Look at the pics. Are the girls in the pool for rent?

What are the other hotels with great location and charactor and most importantly, SPs in the bar, in Montreal? I have heard the Hyatt. I just stayed at Omni and it was terrible this time. The rooms were great for hobbying but the lobby is under renovations. Funny they didn't offer a discount. It was sort of like playing a great golf course only to find the green recently aerated.

All hotels have weird/gross things happen. It's what happens when people are present.

The thing about this hotel is they are the most SP friendly CLASSY hotel in Montreal.

They should auction certain tangibles off here on MERB and could probably make some good coin as I am sure I am not the only one who has some great non-hobby and hobby memories in this hotel.

I got dibbs on the lobby statue!

Agree it was classy and very SP friendly. I remember a booker conversation going like:
"Where are you staying?"
- De la Montagne, room xxx.
"Perfect".

Yes, I will miss this place. I have some fond memories of times spent there, both in and out of my room.
I was looking around at what might happen to the decor - a Merb auction would be a good idea. Don't know if that would happen but I did think they should have some sort of sale - don't think some things would fit in my suitcase though.

Over this weekend I saw/heard the north side of the hotel being demolished with wrecking balls or some other equipment. I heard demolition on that side of the building, saw rubble, but could not see what they were using to do the demo.

Has anyone noticed 1 block over on Drummond the massive construction on the Hotel Mount Stephen?

Yes the Mount Stephen Hotel will be a great addition close to La Montagne street, also they will use the old Mount Stephen house for the reception of the hotel, ilt will be a good combinaison with the new place.
