I am coming back to your wonderful city after a long break. I just got the Hotel St. Denis for $40 per night on Hotwire. Wondering if someone could comment on whether or not this hotel is SP friendly? Thanks in advance.

PS: I promise to post reviews in return for the hotel information :)

Hello Shyguy,

I stayed there during my first trip to Montreal in 2001. It's right at the corner of St. Denis and Ste. Catherine. If it is still the same it's rooms are a bit small, even cramped, and very basic, basic, basic. It's a pretty decent place to just sleep at, but don't expect much for $40. There was a fairly nice restaurant downstairs. I saw three ladies at this hotel and none had any trouble coming in. One lady even came downstairs with me after "the deed" and insisted that the hotel management give me a room with a better working air conditioner ...which they did. This was my very first escort...a real doll, and quite a "pistol". Oh where is Josee of Sweet Dreams now...lol. Overall, it's nothing great, but it is within fair walking distance to pretty much everything. Maybe you should try for a 3 star hotel next time. If Hotwire calls this a 3 star hotel they are quite off. I have seen better 2 star hotels. I believe the St. Denis is 2 stars on Priceline.

Good luck,

Merlot

I stayed in this place in Feb 09.

While I believe this hotel is SP friendly, I don't think it's a 3 star hotel as advertised on hotwire. I've stayed in 2 stars that were better. But since you purchased this via hotwire, there is nothing you can change about it.

The bathrooms are poorly configured, (it was a separate shower and toilet).

Lighting was a bit poor.

Actually it really felt like anyone could just walk in to the hotel, and say hi to the receptionist and walk on to the elevator.

On the plus side, it's a short walk to/from the bus terminal, or 8 blocks to the area of Massage Kama or Spa Isis.

Good luck,

Thanks

Thank you both for your input. This hotel came as a bit of a surprise to me. I was expecting to get the Holiday Inn on Viger (sp?). I had not seen this one on the lists. I may take a chance the first night and if I really dont like it, I may bite the bullet and pay for another hotel. Thanks again.

Hello Shyguy,

It's not a bad place if you are not looking for something flashy. But the rooms, at least the cheaper ones, are totally basic. There's nothing wrong with them. They are just big enough and clean. One lady I met was not too crazy about the hotel, but she said it was okay.

I once called Priceline after booking a hotel. Their policy was, if you bid you are stuck with it. However, when I called them they did make an offer to charge me for just one night and cancel the rest of the reservation. Maybe Hotwire will do this for you. Just don't bet on it, but it could be worth a try rather than losing everything you might be committed to paying.

My last stay in Montreal was at the Holiday Inn Select on Viger bought on Priceline and listed at 3 stars. Nice looking and large rooms, very nice bathroom, but some hardware quality and noise issues. Geeeez, one would have thought there was a lot of SEX going on there all night...lol.

Good Luck,

Merlot

Actually I think I got this hotel via hotwire too. I think after my stay I wrote a really bad review of this place via hotwire. I'm trying to get their star rating adjusted to something more appropriate.

Oh yeah, there is NO Complimentary Breakfast and Local calls were not included either...

Crappy, but SP friendly

Well, I stayed there:(
Yes, it is SP friendly: they don't give a fuck who comes to this hotel.
However, it's old and yes, crappy.
A room they gave to me had... a shared door with another room!
I requested another room. It wasn't bad: quite roomy, clean bathroom, but the curpet was pretty old and not very clean. But overall 3 stars are too much for it, in my opinion.
Anyway, I spent there two funny and naughty hours with hot Melody aka Alicia, now with xxxTase again.:)
Next day I wanted to book Danika from Devilish. I was told (I guess by Devilish boss/owner) that Devilish would not bring its brightest star to an unknown dick to such a crappy hotel.  Hm-m, like Colibry is less crappy than St Denis....
However, a few hours later an other guy from Devilish took my booking and delivered another SP without any problems. Well, she came 1.5 hours... earlier:D :. Well, this is Devilish - you never know what to expect! ;)
Conclusion: if you want to fuck Devilish chicks, don't book this hotel. Or, if you stay here call other agencies.
Seriously: there are many better hotels nearby, say, Hotel Des Alpes just two quarters from St. Deny in the gay village. It's a lil' private hotel, and it's clean, quite nice and SP freindly: I met four girls there during 2 days stay. Parking, breakfest, wi-fi and local calls included.
