Tried the stuff at two places. Liked it at one and hated it at another (Reubens). Guess it's like anything else, it's all in the preparation and ingredients. I eat it only when I'm in Montreal.

I hate it when a fry flies across the room....LOL

I suspect that poutine gained papularity only because it is a Qubec thing. When was the last time you actually saw someone ordering poutine?

This one is funny.

Was in LA yesterday and the security girl started talking to Canadians in front of me.
"So you're from Canada" she said.... "I love Canada... are you from that place ...Montreal ? go there once in a while and I never miss ordering a big poutine."
"You guys have it all... I go there eat all kinds of food... not like that other place I went...hmmm Calgary. Over there it's the same as over here...but more expensive."

And the dumbfounded couple said "No we're from Edmonton..."

"Since I went there... I even made it myself at home. But over here our french fries aren't as good"
"There's even one with maple syrup.... gota try that one" and she started laughing...

Poor couple... they go on vacation in LA and the last person they meet over there is someone talking about Montreal and poutine... :)

Bwahahahaha !

I am proud to state that I have NEVER once eaten even a single portion of the infamous poutine.

Maybe bagels and smoked meat once in a blue moon but I draw the line at artery-clogging poutine.

4-5 Times a year. The stuff is not good for you.

Like hot dogs, pizza, hamburgers, etc... oh wait ! aren't they nation wide food in both Canada and USA ?
How about all the frozen dinners coming out of the Excel type plants all over America ?

Ever been to one ? Probably not !

The real issue is Poutine isn't good for your health as much as all the shit we've been offered by this type of culture which produce alarming rates of obesity and overweight problems.

Frankly put it's hypocrisy. :)

Well, they need to make Haute Poutine with Bonnotte potatoes (500$/kg), donkey cheese (1000$/kg) and gravy made with a 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine (1700$). Add beluga caviar to taste. The logic is that the price has to be higher then the number of calories. :)

nowhere near that caliber but you could always try au pied de cochon, I hear they have a ridiculous poutine.

Yes, they have Foie Gras poutine apparently.

McKibbin's Irish pub has a curry poutine that is interesting.

Five guys have good french fries. All they need to do would be to add cheese and gravy and that could be the best poutine.
