The Gazette is reporting that it's all just going to graze Montreal. Pretty much the same for the NW corner of Vermont. We're expecting at worst what you're getting now, Beav. Hang tight.

The storm is gonna hit us in about 3 hours, with the models showing it curving towards the Adirondacks and then Montreal

Smuler we are getting Hurricane force gusts on the CT coast right now. My building is shaking and the trees are swaying. I am keeping an eye on the water level. High tide is at 11:54 pm. EST No loss of power but two flickers in the past hour.

I hope the hurricane doesn't destroy your old beaverdam.

Montreal wont get anything like NYC and other coastel US places are getting and going to get in the next 12 hours or so, but some heavy rain and higher winds than normal but not any huge damage according to different weather outlets. It is also a quick moving storm and will be ovah by tuesday noonish, again according to several sources.

The storm is over 1000 miles in lenght & has the potential to be one of the fiercest storms in history. However, waiting out the storm will be the easy part. The rough parts will be the damage, floods & probable loss of electricity for who knows how long.

I wish the residents of the eastern U.S. the best during these tough times, but consider the fact that you have the right guy watching over the country right now, who'll keep you safe. He ain't no Bush, that's for sure! You won't be hearing any "great job, Brownie!" from this guy. Thank God!

The people in Atlantic City must feel like the people in NO did after Katrina

We too had flickering lights here..

The storm is picking up speed and will hit now 2 hours ahead of time

I have a friend that lives in Long Beach, NY

He's been sending me videos..
The ocean has just breached the boardwalk

Best Regards

I'm watching it live on PIX11 and it looks pretty bad in Jersey right now. With the storm surge still to come and high tide coming in tonight at 9PM, they were just saying that the expected storm surge is about 2 feet higher than with hurricane Irene, there's a risk of water infiltration in the lower Manhattan subway system.

There's a crane that's dangling on a perch on 57th st in Manhattan

Doesn't look good

10 minutes ago in Ridgewood Nj, I went outside

The wind had stopped and so did the rain

It was so eerie

But it won't last

The flooding is going to be the problem in the NYC area

3 cycles of high tide coming

The entire Connecticut coastline is under a 70-85 mph wind gust warning the next two hours. Islip Long Island recorded a 90 mph gust 15 minutes ago.

Pittsburgh's getting whacked by the rain as we speak

incredible powerful storm

Con Edison Powering Off Lower Manhattan

Water at the Battery has reached 11.87 feet eclipsing the record of 11.2 in 1821. Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel and his crew have shut it down and abandoned Battery Park.

Con Ed is shutting off power to lower Manhattan

I was BBQ'ing some lobsters tails..

Yum,

Some people know how to live well.

Out here near the coast of the state that hates Romney it's been windy all day long with gusts up to 75 mph. There's been little rain, but there have been many closings along the waterfront areas, some of which are continuing into tomorrow. There are no power outages that I've heard about. The area seems to be more cautious than worried. It's really a wonder how southern New England sticks out that we don't get the worst of these storms more often.

Hopefully, he won't get locked out of his condo in his shorts.

Too late. Beav

In other news, Trump is rumored to now be offering $5 million to anyone who can locate his hair said to be somewhere over Pittsburgh.

Cheers,

I'm sure glad I'm in California right now. Supposed to be going east next week. MY hopes and best wishes are for those who are affected by Hurricane Sandy. Those of you who are in the path, and on the coast, I wish you the best. Keep yourselves safe.

Where I belong.
Nothing here, nada. Like a baseball missing Curtis Granderson's bat, the storm totally bypassed northern Vermont.
