Where I belong.
From what I gather, the coast of CT was the only part that really got hit. My brother, up near Waterbury, was pretty much unscathed. New Jersey got it much worse than CT.

"New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie said that President Obama deserves "great credit" for his response to Hurricane Sandy, during an appearance on "CBS This Morning" Tuesday. He said he had spoken to the president three times, including when Obama called him at midnight.

"I can't thank the president enough for that," Christie said, referring to the major disaster declaration Obama signed for New Jersey, expediting federal aid to the state. "Cooperation from the president of the United States has been outstanding. He deserves great credit."

Christie said there are currently 2.4 million households in New Jersey without power."

There is a drawback of having a soft spot for Americans like I do, now I am trying to figure out where my favorite friends are from and gauging if I should worry, so far everybody seems fine except that I missed my meeting of the day, my friend could not make it to haven, I mean Montreal...

Not to downplay some of the hardships, such as those poor homeowners in Queens, but it seems that things could have gone a lot worse??

Sandy may have did something good, heard on a newscast that likely many of the 28 million rodents/rats might have drowned by the flooding.

I'm not sure this is as much a good thing as it seems. Twenty-eight million dead rats must come with considerable health risks. Weren't rats part of the reason why the Black Plague occurred?

I was wondering tonight what all the Montreal sps working in New York City a few days ago were doing during the storm? Did they stay in their hotel rooms? Did they go to any shelters? Did they have to evacuate? Did any stay close to that sky-rise with the broken crane?

I remember when 9/11 happened, a couple of Mtl sps who were in NYC working during that time posted about their experience. One was still receiving counselling for her PTSD & was a mess!
