if a postal code refers to one or a couple of buildings, you dont use the postal code system. In that case you can use a nearby metro, or intersection. The basic problem is not mentioning anything at all in the ad. Just putting 'montreal' is of no help to anybody.

For the guy who is only going to see 1 provider per year, the location is not important. For those of us who are true 'hobbiest' :), location becomes very important. Even 'downtown' is too vague. I come from the east during my work hours. ''Downtown'' can mean anything from papineau and sherbrooke all the way to lionel-groulx, to griffin town, to (yikes) drummond and stre-catherine. Each of those represent multiple challenges in access or parking by car, especially coming from the east.

Now how do we get this message out to all providers? :)

Same for me, which is why I was baffled when a guy said earlier that giving a postal code is rude and that he found an excuse to cancel because of that. LOL
so if your postal code covers your building only, why not giving the right address? (or maybe you want to play foul with clients?) I did not reply your comment because I see the discussion about location info before the booking, in which postal code is ok; while my case is after the booking confirmation, in which postal code cover 4 parallel streets, maybe I were a bit too picky.

However it makes me very uneasy when someone demands the exact address right away. Security is paramount in this world, and not everyone who contacts us has good intentions.

I agree with you Alexis, it's true asking for the exact address is not cool.

i agree with that too. you booked, you are on your way, and you are still getting a vague location...a bit annoying...

i remember in the early days you had to call from a phone booth that would be outside the location so the provider could see you...seems like ancient history now...

I don't use postal code I was just pointing out. :p 4 parallel streets isn't that much (it's like what a few minutes walk), I wouldn't have cancelled for that, it's super rude and lazy. But I agree that once the booking is confirmed, a corner or a closeby address at the minimum is appreciated for you guys, for parking purposes. Still, even I don't give the exact address until the very last minute when I'm ready, because some guys are idiots and will wait in the lobby until the landlord/landlady asks what the fuck they're doing or who they're waiting for. So I tell where to park then once Im ready I tell which building and buzzer. I once gave the address in advance and the dude arrived 20mins earlier and while waiting told my landlord at the time ''Oh I'm waiting for girl in (my appt number).'', what the fuck. There are reasons sex workers do things the way they do them. LOL

Me: Salut! Which area are of Montreal you received?
Her: Corner of X and Y
- no more text as X and Y is no go for me

Or:

Me: Ok cool are you available at X hour for 30 min? (I look like brad pitt)
Her: Yes!!!

Cheers,

Hahahaha lolll je pensais qu'on était tous comme ça non? ça l'air que non!

i decided i am going to try to send messages to all the local websites, suggesting them to try to find a way to encourage independants to at least post the arrondissement they are in...you never know, one of the sites might think it is a good idea :)

by the way, you would have to think the sites are well aware of merb, terb,.... If the suggestion comes out of our community it will have more sway

Many SPs neglect to put their location in ads. Sometimes the ad looks good but I do not feel like going to Sherbrooke to see an SP. Approx. location is not too much to ask.
