Has anyone had any luck using interac from the US? What site did you use?
I tried to use Interac without success from USA a couple of years ago. Bottomline, the system exclusively works to transfer funds from a Canadian bank account into another Canadian bank account. I would recommend trying Paypal International money transfer.

Thanks. That's been my experience too. Now that the border is more accessible, providers who require deposits are going to have to either use PayPal or some 3rd option.

Visit site
only problem with paypal is that its too easy for the client to chargeback so providers are pretty reluctant unless its a trusted client.

Want to stress Tishina's post about using PayPal. Unless the SW explicitly mentioned PayPal, I would stay away from it. PayPal is notorious for freezing SW accounts. I know from personal experience with dealing with a Montreal indie.

I'm even having issues with Paysend, which I successfully used back in July to send deposits to some Montreal ladies. But this thread prompted me to log in again only to discover my account has been frozen. To the ladies, if you're going to require a deposit for people across the border, please stick to gift cards. The financial system deposits are always some type or another of pain in the ass.

Is it?

Under the scenario of 'send'/tranfer to a 'friend' on paypal... once you make the payment and paypal takes the funds from your checking account I am under the impression you can't successfully claim it back.

I believe you may use WISE, as in the formerly known as transferwise, which is a outfit of British origin if I am remembering correctly. "they" will use Interac on their end to engage the Interac system for you. Otherise in the US you can't directly use Interac as it's a fantastic canadian bank created networked system. I think the closest thing in the states is the barbaric system of Western Union.
