Gentlemen,

Haha !

Suggestions ,suggestions ?:noidea::noidea::noidea:

Having met Booker and knowing him a little I have the perfect lookalike to play him. All 2' 6". :D

...haven't books like the Mayflower Madam and Secret Diary of a Call Girl covered this subject already extensively? Same old content keeps getting recycled and "re-discovered."

I think you missed the point on this one.

First: it's about real courage to put yourself out in front, exposing your true self to the world when the momentum is all on the other side. Amelie takes a serious risk to every part of her life by identifying herself so openly as and escort. Despite the mindset of almost everyone on this board to think escorting should just be accepted, and there are those here who see as and would treat an escort like trash in real life, the fact is there are many who would be quite abusive. Amelie should be congratulated and celebrated for having the guts to do this.

Second: despite how mundane and silly we find the extremely repetitive point of view of those who think "prostitution" is nothing but abusive it gained enough political traction to make C36 reality. No matter how much has already been said for the opposite view already C36 means it's been very far from enough. Repetition works, if it didn't we wouldn't have C36.

As for revealing your identity, that's your choice. Though, I'm not quite sure how that enhances the story.

Pictures have always been very powerful. The Pharaohs knew this well enough to carve their images for others over 5,000 years ago. Political cartoonists, photographers have been powerful in helping change society. Putting a face on who escorts really are will help change feelings and opinions by showing they go against stereotypes of abused children and desperate or drug riddled women.

truly,

Merlot

Photographer took surprise pic of my ashtray... Too late to do anything about it now :p

I am honestly touched by all the nice comments i'Ve received, I honestly thought the article would be too obscure to be read by anyone...

Well To me it is obscur but that's the beauty of a community to share things that you would miss normally !

PS Merci Amelie pour cette entrevue! Peut être que grâce a des entrevue comme ça la perception de la société sur ton métier sera changer un jou

Amelie, I think it is wonderful that you are so comfortable with yourself that you gave this interview. It goes perfectly with what you say on your website...."I am me and I am here to meet the real you." I look forward to meeting the real you!

You should add to that last line "But it can happen--my partner has a boyfriend and most days he wants to strangle himself. It's certainly not easy being in relationship and doing this job...I'd love to see an interview one day featuring boyfriends of SPs! That'd be such an interesting read...

Anywho great interview Amelie! Not sure I know of anyone else who has enough courage to be so open about their profession and I'm sure all the SPs in town thank you for it :)

If I were Canadian, I might offer to "come out" as a client. I don't give a shit what people think of me. But, right now, I would like to be able to cross the border. The laws in the US are much more strict. One of these days, people!

Much respect for Amelie, speaking out and taking ownership of your decisions. Was touched by what you mentioned and many commenters here are talking about - it's one thing to become an SP because of financial need, which is already a difficult and courageous move. But, to succeed and excel in this profession? Like Johnybird and christ have said, you're going to need to find and develop your intellect and other character strengths to do that. In one sense, you are the female version of what we expect and demand of male athletes: your body is your work, you risk harm and take a physical and psychological toll from job stresses, mistreatment and attempted exploitation and the changing relationships with those around you, and you need extreme mental toughness to survive, compete, and prosper. Good to know that the journey can be empowering and a major catalyst for growth, at least for many SPs. As men, we certainly benefit from and appreciate your competence.

Very well put, Sir. You did, however, leave one thing out: AMELIE'S A ROCKSTAR!

Hello all,

That's your own choice, for the notoriety or martyrdom.

When someone looks at anyone putting themselves out front in this industry, especially an escort who carries the greatest risk, I think anyone who looks at that kind of enormous courage and sees it cynically should be pointing questions inward. I'm sure just about all of the almost 69,000 members of the board have nothing but respect for Amelie, as I do.

Absolutely! Speaking from the point of view of a provider who feels she cannot "come out" for personal reasons, Amelie's gesture is absolutely appreciated. Especially in today's political climate, we need strong women like her to be the voice of willing sex workers. Only with these women coming forward about choosing sex work will we have any chance at dispelling some of the negative propaganda that is poisoning this industry.

Thank you, Amelie!

While I always told my daughters "find something you love doing and you will never have to work a day in your life" I can't take credit for that saying, but I do not recall who said it first; but I definitely repeated it to my daughters.. Most SP's that I have met and gotten to know are doing exactly that. Amelie, you are just the one with the most courage. You are my new hero! I also have always said that if I had been born a woman I would be an escort, and if I were not good enough to be an escort I would just be a whore and give it away! We are so lucky to have some of the best escorts, or courtesans, in the world available to us in Montreal, and even more lucky that Amelie is one of the best!

Here is part 2 of Amelie Gray's interview. Merci, Amélie. On t'admire, on t'apprécie, on t'aime.

Interview with an escort (Part 2)

(Translation by Google with help from Capt. Renault)

Amelie Gray is one of the most popular escorts in town. In a first interview, Amelie told us what led her to practice this profession. She explained to us the difficulties she faces as part of her job. In this second part, we'll talk about the business.

Let's start with the always annoying question: what are your rates?

I have a special price for the so-called social time (when no sex occurs) $ 100 / hour. For sex, it goes up to $ 250 / hour. I make sure to work about 10 hours / week. My goal is to make about $ 2000 a week. Having said that, social dates are usually accompanied by intimate encounters. No, its not like I get to accompany Hollywood celebrities to a gala. If someone makes a reservation with me, we'll end up naked at some point during the encounter.

Sometimes I have appointments that last 5 hours, but we always spend at least 15 minutes in bed. A rendezvous with me is not dedicated solely to sex. It is also important to be able to converse and be interesting about various topics.

[photo of doorknob with elastic bands]
Elastic bands let colleagues know that the apartment is currently occupied ...

You have been a prostitute for two years. How has your career evolved over the last two years?

The better the reputation you get, the more you become a belle de jour, a daytime courtesan. Guys want to come see you downtown and take a long lunch break. My most requested time frame is between noon and 1 PM. When I first started, it was mostly around 9 PM. My customer base is 50% local and 50% people from outside Montreal.

What is your opinion about the disdain with which people regard your profession, be it by the media or by feminist groups?

There is this stereotype portrayed by Richard Gere (Pretty Woman, 1990), of the client who wants to save a girl from prostitution. But prostitutes like me are the least in need of being saved because we are women who started in prostitution to save ourselves. No, I do not want a sugar daddy. All the money I make goes into my pocket, since I am an independent woman. Even agencies are not necessary: we do not need a man to answer the phone and make money off our backs.

There really is a problem with this idea of the woman needing salvation because it is the first time ever that feminists and religious conservatives agree on a subject. Maybe feminist organizations should question themselves. Most true feminists I know give me encouragement me when I tell them what I do. Concerning the media, this is the first interview I have granted. Usually, you feel that journalists are against you and you will have to fight to explain that what you're doing is OK.

And what would be, according to you, the solution?

I am part of a cooperative of independent escorts. We are the ethical option. We are there, we want to be there and there is no one who takes care of us. We recently wrote a letter to the Huffington Post. The response by women was: you are clearly just part of some lobbying group for men.

People who are against prostitution need to understand that escorts like me should not be put in the same basket as women kidnapped from other countries and forced into prostitution. Furthermore it's the same with most agencies: most of them employ only girls who are of age and are working voluntarily.

For example, there are big problems with children working in foreign factories making clothing. But nobody protests against clothing or against fashion designers! No, we oppose these factories that exploit children. Similarly, with prostitution, you have to go after those who traffic in women and try to help those who are not in prostitution by choice. You shouldn't attack the independent escorts who, like us, practice the profession in an ethical fashion.

If more civie chics have the kind of mindset as someone like Amelie the world wouldn't be so fucked up.

The girl most definitely has clarity of thought. Like many of the SPs I run into in Canada.

You have an enormous amount of integrity, Amelie. I'm as proud and honored to know you as I am any of my friends who are lawyers, computer programmers, pharmacists, doctors, educators, and professors.
