Is Quebec and possibly some European countries more "male friendly" than the Anglosphere(Alimony Laws)

PS: I am not trying to offend anyone, I am only asking due to a great curiosity.

I was talking with a friend who told me that if he was going to have a serious/long term girlfriend he rather do it in a non-Anglosphere country, than in the Anglophere where he believe there was no true equality between the sexes.

He said that

Anglosphere: If you have a GF and she lives with you for awhile the court can consider you "de facto" married and you would have to pay alimony. Some feminists(not everyone of course) exploit this and make men pay tons of money to them, if you don't pay alimony you'll be locked in jail. We see that this affects minority communities at least in the USA. Moreover, you see in the news when a feminist wants to charges thousands of dollars to her previous partner which most likely will leave them broke and in very bad financial shape. Hence why you seem many "manosphere groups" primarily from the English speaking angry/resenful.

Quebec/Possible other European countries: My friend was saying that if you have a GF in Quebec and you split up you would not have to pay alimony since you aren't really married. He said this system was much more fair and actually stood up for equality between the sexes. He said that the same system was also similar in some European countries(maybe France?) not sure.

Now, I'm not saying everyone is exploiting the system. What I'm saying it is that is isn't as uncommon as people think that it is. Moreover, I heard that in Quebec they rejected the law since it seems to be tied to some "predatory capitalism" tendencies where clearly some people would not be able to pay thousands of dollars per month.

What do you guys think?
