I was considering making a trip midweek but all my usual hotels are either booked up or asking outrageous rates.

Is there a festival that my Google search cannot find?

I went on google for you, and i typed "Montréal congres septembre 2010"
I found out there is the 21st World Energy Congress that will be hosted in Montreal september 12 to the 16.
They're expecting 5 000 guests... Good luck finding a hotel room and a SP! lol
