So, who do and don’t You Tip?
Where does it Start/End??

SPs yes, either Cash or a Gift.
I like the whole SP experience with Food, Drinks, Dessert, Gift….

Some that I tip: (in no particular order)
Food Delivery (Fees add up here)
Restaurant Workers
Hotel Workers (sometimes at an All Inclusive, it gets a little gray)

I was away on a Tropical Vacation.
I was at the Grocery Store, and they had Kids bagging Groceries. I was asked do you want help with your Groceries? I said yes, and the Groceries were bagged and brought to my Car…. I gave a Tip.

On this same Vacation the Hotel had a Company providing Free COVID Tests to return to the US. The person doing the Test had Cash in their ID Lanyard.
I was thinking, was that their Lunch Money, or a suggestion to be Tipped. I didn’t….

So please no shaming here….

There has certainly been an increase everywhere in requests for tips - tip jars, lines on receipts for take out orders, etc...it gets me frustrated at times BUT if the service is great or the person on the other side of the counter is particularily nice, I do leave a tip. Same goes with SPs...I frankly tip generously but only if the service and experience are very very good.

recently came across a active montreal reddit thread of the same thing. you go buy a grab and go beverage or snack and tap and pay and you get paused to decide on a tip. I mean, the whole movement of cashless payment = saving time, now has been erased with requesting a tip amount as if you are dining in at a table.
