I had a dress shoe collection going on a few years ago.

Once you see what's available from boutique shoe makers in Europe, you'll never look at dress shoes in North America again.

At the high end, Corthay & John Lobb

Mid-high: Vass (This model is just SEX)

Mid range: https://www.alfredsargent.co.uk/,

https://us.crockettandjones.com/collections/mens-icons-collection,

https://eu.meermin.com/,

https://www.rmwilliams.com/

Ultimate luxury though...is flying to London, getting a cast made of your foot, then getting shoes custom made for you.

That's like...US$10K. I think. $3K for the cast, $7K for the shoes.

Been a Doc Martens guy since forever.

However, I was looking for a boot with a bit more class, something a bit more dressy. Stumbled upon the Thursday Boots Company and got a pair of Whiskey colored Presidents. Loved them so much I then ordered a pair of rugged Captains in Arizona Adobe leather. Two years later, I keep getting good comments from random people about them!

The bang for your buck is way up there. They do take about a week to break in, but… after a few months, it’s basically just like wearing a second pair of socks!

Ya gonna need to also get custom pairs of pants to go with these shoes. If your pants are even just half to one inch too long it is going to defeat the beauty of these shoes.

Also you going to need shoe trees.

I am in the market for a good wing tip shoe and am willing to spend up to $400 so if anyone else has any recommendations let me know.
Duke Black - To Boot New York. I have a pair of these in Brown. But I didn't pay the $495 though lol. I found a pair years ago when Century 21 was still in business and picked it up for $190. Also I see this pair in both black and brown at two Nordstrom Racks a few weeks ago. So if you are around these Nordstrom Racks maybe go in and take a lookee loo.

That's a nice fucking shoe! That's exactly what I am looking for, although I prefer brown to black. I need a pair of shoes like that to wear to Court when needed.

Skymning,

I only mentioned Skechers because I believed you were interested in a comfortable sneaker like walking shoe. If you want a more rugged and durable shoe which maybe is not quite as comfortable but more suitable for rugged terrain like walking trails or hiking, I recently bought these shoes from LL Bean (I got the Oakwood color now on sale for $84.99):
They felt a little stiff at first but they quickly break in and get more comfortable. I have owned many LL Bean shoes over the year and also buy their dress shoes, although they no long seem to make the tassled slip on shoes I have worn for the last 10 years or so.

You have not asked about boat shoes, but my two favorite makers are Margaritaville and Sperry. I love Margarativalle's boat shoes. I think they are the best ones on the market. but unfortunately they do not make a smaller than size 8 shoe, which sucks, because an 8 is too big for me. So I go to the next best boat shoe, Sperry (although LL Bean makes a very solid and durable boat shoe as well). Sperry goes down to a size 7 and shows some love for the small footed man. This is the one I bought a few months ago (got tan color, but having 7 colors to choose from is cool):
I realize boat shoes may not be as popular in Montreal as they are here, but growing up in Fairfield County, if you did not have a pair of boat shoes you were not deemed to be cool in high school. These were the warm weather shoes of choice, and de Riguer with the prep school crowd. Sperry is a very popular brand. Margaritaville came on the market from Jimmy Buffet more recently, and they are a better looking shoe IMHO. I was going to send a letter to Jimmy Buffet about not making a lower than size 8 shoe, but never did. I was devastated not to be able to buy their shoe, although I did buy a pair of their flip flops which were awesome. They had like a skull and crossbones on them and they wore for a long time.
I honestly didn't know boat shoes were a thing or existed.

I like it- thats the nicest looking Wing Top I ever saw in my life! I almost get a hard on looking at it LOL! I will seriously consider buying those shoes although that pair goes a little past my $400 budget.....
Head to Amazon. They carry To Boot New York shoes at the fraction of the price.

Are you talking about these?
Yup! That’s the first pair I got. Like I said, I was looking for something just a little put together than a straight up pair of Docs.

Nowadays, I wear the Captains more often, though. But that’s just a style thing. The sole, padding and feel is very much the same on both pairs.

Hey guys, you ever buy shoes that looked cool but after you buy them, they feel uncomfortable afterwards?

Because that happened to me. Lol

Yeah I purchased a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction boots that looked cool but it killed my feet even after breaking them in after a few days. Had to head to a Clarks store and got a pair of Chelsea boots and it was absolute night and day. Had to dump the KCR boots. The Clarks Chelsea boots were like walking on clouds. Kenneth Cole is fine but Kenneth Cole Reaction is a couple of notches down.

I've been buying Adidas boost every year since the original Energy Boost in 2013.

My ankles and knees used to hurt so bad at the end of my shift, so Ultraboost are well worth it for me. The hype on them has died down over the years so they are available on sale for half price often.
