Trudeau and Chretien accents were very light, but, boy, this guy does not even speak English!!!!!

While I agree with you on Trudeau's accent being light, are you kidding about Chretien's accent being light??? Chretien had a very strong French Quebec accent. His accent is also not from the big cities like Montreal or Quebec City.

Even though Chretien is highly educated (he went to law school and is a lawyer by trade), his French and his English are both bad. His French accent is equivalent to what you would hear on the streets and not something that you would hear from French/Quebec newsbroadcasters whom I consider to speak French very well.

The Tories took all but one or two of their seats from the Bloc, not from the Liberals.

I'm not sure of your numbers but what you wrote is true regarding the voter demographics/intentions.

The Liberals continue to win the majority of their seats in Quebec from the Montreal area mainly along the west of the island but with some eastern seats (like Saint Leonard). Prior to the Bloc, the Conservatives would generally fight with the Liberals for most of the other seats (pre-Mulroney era when he took the majority of the Quebec seats). Now that the Bloc has come into federal politics, most of the other fights/races are between the Bloc and the Tories with some places being 3 way fights between Liberals, Bloc, and Tories.
