The one time the media does not respect a transgender's choice of pronoun is when they go on to do a mass shooting.

Media calling this proud woman "he" and using his dead-name... That is a little hypocritical...
There have been several mass shootings by transgender individuals in the US. It is not the first time.

You are right, the bought and sold media is quick to change the channel(no pun intended) when it does not fit their narrative.

To your point, this was pretty prescient (superbowl shooter)

Politics aside, this shooting is tragic.

As usual, the very religious politicians (J.D. Vance here) offerred the answer to these mass shooting : THOUGHT AND PRAYERS ! Big consolations to the victims families.

Another day another mass shooting in America. We have created the environment for this carnage because of a perverted interpretation of the Second Amendment. Republican politicians, in bed with the NRA and gun lobby, refuse to address this perversion and make America safer. Make America Healthy Again should start with a ban on weapons of war.

On Saturday night 3 were killed and 5 wounded, 1 critically, at a bar in North Carolina. The carnage continues in the Wild West that is the USA. We are an angry, murderous, and armed to the teeth nation.

Really makes you want to visit lol.
Nothing will change, each administration will blame the previous one and thoughts and prayers will be their only answer.

That's were you are wrong in blaming both sides. Republicans have completely acquiesced to the NRA, the gun lobby, gun manufacturers, and those Americans who think the 2nd amendment gives them the right to own weapons of war. Democrats want sensible gun safety legislation but cannot get republicans to get on board and pass legislation. Individual states do what they can. I live in a very blue state that has passed sensible gun safety legislation and we have many fewer gun deaths than red states.

Keep on believing the nonsense you and other Democrats say while people keep on dying from gun violence.
Democrats have had many shots at being in power and yet the killings continue. Always better to blame the other side lol.
They are no better than the Republicans.
Americans have this love and fascination with guns that no other country comes close to.

It seems to have less to do with legislation than it does with what can get through the courts. Federal stuff is pretty much doomed to failure and every state initiative has to go through reams of judicial actions and appeals against them. It has less to do with who's in power than it does with which fringe group will immediately start a court action against any initiative which challenges the status quo. As you say, love and fascination, but it literally only takes one disgruntled moron to stop, stall or delay any changes forever or for years, and not just for gun laws. The litigious nature of the US is a far greater weapon and trap against the American populace than is either political party.

Strange that you can institute tariffs and try to hold the whole world hostage and blackmail them overnight, but you can’t change gun laws.
I don’t think there was ever a loud enough outcry from the population to force governments to act.

It is almost political suicide for any government to try and enforce significant gun controls.
Americans love their guns and they do not want change.

Hence the federal change is doomed to failure comment that I made. State changes are entirely possible though, just cumbersome, as you need to wend your way through the NRA funded court opposition to make change. Meh. It is what it is.

He actually set the Church on fire and most of the injuries were from smoke inhalation. Should we ban matches and lighters, or have match and lighter control? In your naive heads do you really believe politics can stop anyone with a grudge from killing someone else?

I will try to explain this to you one more time, but you seem to have a mental roadblock on this topic. To enact gun safety legislation what's needed is a majority in the House of Representatives, 60% of the Senate, and a POTUS who will sign the proposed legislation into law. Even if Democrats had simple majorities in the House and the Senate, and POTUS was a Democrat getting 60 votes in the Senate would require Republican votes. Republicans have demonstrated time and again they will not vote for gun safety legislation. Therefore, it is Republicans and not Democrats who prevent enactment of new legislation. Of course, there are already more weapons in America than people so the carnage would continue, but taking action, any action, is better than "thoughts and prayers".

There were mass shootings within the past few days in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Michigan. Yet TACO sends troops to Portland, OR.

Well at least he is doing it in the right country. Now gotta swipe right a little bit there DementiaDon.

Do you really think you can kill hundreds within minutes with a match and lighter.
Of course someone can kill with many other things than a gun, but why make it so damn easy to be able to use an assault rifle to do your killing.

Americans can stop it if they have the will to do it. Politicians will bend to an overwhelming outcry of the population, but the reality is that this whole gun culture is entrenched into Americans and they love their guns and do not want to part with it.

There is no other nation that is armed like Americans are and there is no other country that has the amount of gun violence either.

Well, let's have a look at some basic numbers. The USA has about 120 guns per hundred population. Canada has about 35 guns per hundred population. It's not strictly apples to apples but the cultures are similar enough that we should be able to make a ballpark comparison. So, if we trust in the guns themselves being the controlling factor then by rights The US should have about 4 times as many mass shootings as Canada per equivalent unit of population. The US has roughly ten times the population of Canada, so we can divide the mass shootings numbers in the US by 10 to compare. The US is up to 325 mass shootings this year, so far. Let's divide that by 10 to get an equivalency number with Canada. So, to match Canada The US shouldn't have more than 32.5 mass shootings a year. Canada, on the other hand, has had 77 mass shootings. This century. That is to say, since 2000. There have been 3 mass shootings in Canada this year. So, in round figures Canada has 10 times less mass shootings that the US does in rough numbers per equivalent population grouping, but the US doesn't have 10 times the gun presence per unit of population that Canada does. So, if the gun ownership ratio doesn't explain the difference and isn't the deciding factor and we're not allowing for a significantly higher degree of crazy people in US vs Canada, or a radically different culture (allowing for some demographic differences) then what's the deciding factor? Almost the only thing left is legislation around guns. So, from a back of the matchbook logic comparison yes, it probably does make sense to ban the matches and have lighter control.

Yes if you have an accelerant to rapidly spread the fire.
Now you are really reaching to find one in 1942 and another in 2003 are you kidding.

A ban on assault weapons alone could have resulted in 38 less mass shootings in 2025.
This does not include all the gang slayings, domestic shootings, deaths due to armed robberies the list is endless in the US and they involve guns more than 95% of the time not knives or matches and accelerants.
