I'm going to put this out there and ask the question of name "famous" Merbites who's green board expiry came as a result of retiring unceremoniously, laughed off, booted, banned ...

Doc, Robin X or reverdy can likely tell us if such a thread already exists.
ya, i'm feeling nostalgic... maybe it's just gas from a fairmount bagel with boardline expired cream cheese or reading some of the posts on various boards where people have gathered even though they have a major hate on for one another. perhaps i'd just like to plan my own ending and have an easy menu of options to select from.

EXPIRED MERBITES... hobbying elsewhere or "retired"

Delta123 (Feb - Dec 2011)
* great reviewer, posted many "TOFTT" reports, breathed life in 2011 into 2 agencies Mike's Good Girls (ex- Girls4U) and Martin's Asservissante
Expired due to: accusations of discount extortion

bensonnobalia (Mar 2008 - Apr 2010)
* general shitdisturber seems to be the consensus.
Expired due to:
Reason: Where do I begin? This member has been a constant pain in the ass since the day he first appeared on MERB. He has constantly done nothing but complain about the moderation of MERB, the advertisers and the way they run their businesses, the ages of the SPs and on and on... He has contributed nothing of value to the community and has instead spent his time here trying to cause problems on the board.

His constant slinking away like a coward to post unfounded bullshit and lies on another board about MERB was disgraceful. When he was called on it, he refused to even own up to what he had posted like a man. If you are not man enough to stand up for your convictions, I doubt that you are man enough to be involved in this hobby and I see no benefit to MERB to continue having you as a member.

i still respect Delta123's contributions... there was volume, timeliness and relevance in his reviews.

again, to say the guy was the only person in hobbyland to ask for a discount in return for a "Delta123-Approved" review is untrue and misguided.
that's like saying agencies don't ask for positive reviews in return for sending a girl-on-their-best-behavior.

should D123 have been banned, imo - no, but the strange stories of needing hobbying help due to an addiction land Delta123 on this list. that was messed up... but nice to have drama around here ever now and again don't you all think?

Don't worry Doc will come back.
As soon as I go away for a while or even sooner.

He's done it, many times anyway.

I think , he thinks I (among others) have something against him while it's just the posting tons of stuff on the LEafs on this board that really gets on someone's nerve

Surely Oliver Klosoff was in a league of his own. Crude, rude, rambling, and semi-literate. What a guy!!

Hmmm,

As yes, how about the great BensonNobalia who was banned for:

"Being a hypocrite, refusing to take responsibility for his actions, generally being a gutless, spineless worm.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never"

What a terrible miscarriage of justice that was, for such seemingly minor offenses and character traits.

Thanks Sam for such a great laugh. :D The guy created more paranoid fake conspiracy theories and faster than the National Enquirer ever did. The main difference was Ben never showed any of the Enquirer's balls to back it up.

I think I'd like to see Delta123 reinstated. It's hard to decide because of the offense. Maybe the mods can consider the time that has passed, but it's the type of offense that is the sticking point.

BTW...need names...see blueboard membership.

Cheers,

Merlot

Yup ! it was fun to argue with him until he would snap and write sideways or even upside downs.
Not to mention every single meal he would put here. He helped me to avoid many restaurents he went to; just by looking at his plates

It's too bad Oliver had such a rough edge because I sure learned a lot from him. I met him once at a GT and his off-line personality was far more pleasant than the Oliver who posted on merb. I know the Mods don't miss him but he sure made the Board more interesting...

Semi-literate? You, Sir, are terribly generous. Next to Oliver, lgna69 is Ernest Hemingway.

Breadman. Apparently passed away last year from cancer. Before doing so he made sure he blew all his savings on SPs. Died a poor man with a smile on his face.
Rumours of the Baron von Breadmann's demise are greatly exaggerated. I spent four days touring FKK clubs with the Baron just this past January. He's within weeks of another trip across the pond.

Hello everyone,

As this thread contravenes MERB policy regarding discussing banned members who cannot reply here, there is no reason for it to remain open.

By the way, Megalomanic was Tony and has been banned and his posts have been removed as per usual procedure.

Thread closed.
