Before you could use WiseTransfer, it allowed non Canadians to make e-transfers. I am not sure if that’s still a possibility.
I've used Wise for international transfers. The conversion rates are good and fees are lower than most bank wires. Don't know if it works with a cc, I've only ever used it for ACH transfers. Transfers are relatively fast, they usually arrive within 6 hours even though they claim it will take longer.

My problem with using Wishtender is the 10% fee seems excessive, especially when Wise is less than 1%. But I do understand the preference for the charge back protection it provides.

I get it. But no information has to be exchanged, no explanation to give to anyone, and as you say, no chargeback. There's always a fee when we want it easy. Plus, Americans already get a good deal when seeing us because of exchange rates; 10% seems reasonable!

I need to find a way to do e-transfer from the US with credit card. A regular SP I see prefers it... but unfortunately I don't think it's possible
Here's another recommendation for Wishtender. I successfully sent an Interac once a few years ago now. Don't even know how the hell that happened. But in the course of trying to send one again recently, I couldn't even find the app to download it in the US. But reached out to the lovely lady and she suggested a Wishtender; went off without a hitch.

Other suggestions are gift cards, as already mentioned. They take payments without issue most of the time. I've had no issues with sending Holt Renfrew and Canadian Amazon gift cards. But I say "most of the time" because Amazon canceled a gift card order I sent to a provider as deposit about 4 months ago. It didn't matter that I tried again. Amazon kept refusing transaction due to potential fraud. (This was US Amazon btw).

Lastly, I know deposits aren't clients' favorite things but I've underestimated the hellscape providers have to contend with. It's 100% dirt bag behavior to pay a deposit, then report it as fraud. Ugh, some people.

Speaking of Wishtender, they made the following announcement on Twitter today (all Wishtender users should note the key dates):

“Due to an unexpected policy change, Stripe has decided to part ways with WishTender. We are thrilled to announce that we've acquired a new financial partner, and we are collaborating with them to continue building the best wishlist platform for creators.

We will continue to update you on the action items that you will need to take as we transition. In the meantime, please read the note below, which contains important information, action items, and deadlines related to our user accounts and payouts as we wind down our partnership with Stripe.

Please direct all questions to the support chat on the site, not Twitter DMs.

--------⏰Dates + Important Actions --------
WishTender has been informed that Stripe will discontinue payment processing for all WishTender Stripe Connect accounts and that additional time-based restrictions will apply to non-US Stripe Connect payouts. We have summarized the essential dates and deadlines below:
------------
Key dates for US accounts

Gift Payments: Gift payments into US-based WishTender Stripe Connect accounts will be paused on February 15, 2024.

Payouts: All US payouts to US bank accounts will continue as usual. However, as our relationship with Stripe will be discontinued, we strongly recommend ensuring your balance is paid out as soon as possible and no later than March 15, 2024.
------------
Key dates for non-US accounts

Gift Payments: Gift payments into non-US WishTender Stripe Connect accounts will be paused on February 9, 2024.

Payouts: Payouts from non-US WishTender Stripe Connect to non-US bank accounts will cease on February 20, 2024. Please ensure your balance is paid out by February 19, 2024.
------------
⚠️Additional precautions for non-US accounts

Please take prompt action if your WishTender Stripe Connect account
• is non-US
• and 1. your payouts are paused or 2. you have a payout issue, (e.g., you attached the wrong bank account) or 3. you have a monthly or weekly payout schedule.

If the above applies to you, reach out to our support chat on the wishtender website to set your payouts to daily and/or to address your payout issues ASAP to get your balance paid out before February 20th.

If your non-US balance is not initiated in a payout out by the 20th, we will have to move your funds via our new payout provider. Moving these funds could accrue fees, delays, and conversion losses. So please address any payout issues now to prevent losses.

Non-US users may wish to explore virtual US bank account solutions (wise. com, etc.) as an interim measure. Users who pursue this option may contact us to reactivate their account as a US account, while we transition to our new international payment partner. Please read our FAQ article on virtual US accounts and follow the instructions there before reaching out to the support chat on the site.

------------------------

We've been working through this sudden and surprising change around the clock. It's been a challenge, but we are facing this head-on. We know how important it is for users to collect payments, and we’re implementing our new solution as fast as possible so users can experience minimal interruption. We apologize to those who may experience payment interruptions during this transition.

We are so grateful to have the chance to continue building for the community. We have exciting plans on our roadmap that we will be better equipped to accomplish with partners better aligned with our model. We understand this sudden change may be disconcerting, and we welcome your feedback and concerns. With your support, we will evolve the platform far beyond what it is today with our new financial partners, providing you with a more resilient and stable platform.”

Is it that hard to take X amount out of an ATM? IMO the safest way to pay for services, the hacker skills are amazing for other transactions.

There is a popular sp that asks for paypal deposit. I did send it but honestly I was too horny to consider any negative ramifications.

PayPal isn’t safe either. To be very honest, no financial institution or payment processor are really safe. They are not sex work friendly.

The best are cash and gift cards.

I have no desire to use crypto. I have no use for that.

In my humble opinion, even if you don't intend to use crypto, receiving stable coins (e.g., USDC) via a user friendly app like coinbase (now available in Canada and interfaces with Interac) and converting it to cash/withdrawing to your bank account is always an option. Sure, it’s not as seamless as receiving cash payment, but it comes with the advantage of privacy for both parties and zero risk of reversed or cancelled transactions once it hits your wallet, so it’s not the worst option for, say, deposit or gift purposes.

Amazon Canada put a hold on my account the first time I tried to send a gift card, which they cancelled. Once I provided a bit more KYC information in an online form they sent, they lifted the hold and I haven’t had any issues sending gift cards since.

Yeah, thinking about it, if at any point in the future they decide to go after her, it might be in 5 years, they can easily pull her records and anyone who sent her $. Its something I didn’t consider properly.
so what’s safer for deposits? Cash and gidt cards cant really be sent in advance. Maybe paypal through pre-paid visa works?

There are many gift cards you can buy online and send by email. If not, you can always buy them in person, take a photo of the codes and send it by email or text messages.

Gift Cards
Those are some exemples of cards frequently asked, there are many more on the market. Before you send a gift card, do your research and make sure the provider is legit and reputable.

Available online and in person
Air Canada
Amazon
Apple
Google Play
Holt Renfrew
Lululemon
Sephora
Uber/Uber Eats

How to send an eGift card: The website usually asks you for the email address of the person you want to send the eGift card to. Please remember to leave the "personal message" field empty or keep it very neutral. Avoid things such as "for our booking" "for our session" "to get my dick sucked"

Available in person
Joker MasterCard/Visa
Netflix
Spotify
Vanilla MasterCard/Visa

How to send a physical gift card: Get a mail pigeon. Just kidding! Buy the gift card as per usual, take it out of its package and make sure you take a photo of both the front and the back. If there is a "scratchable" code, scratch it. The card cannot be used without this part. The person will most likely not be able to use the card in person unless there is a bar code.
