I was watching this live while texting with the good Dr. (Mister Doc Holliday) and we could not believe what we were seeing live! Unreal, too bad Trump sold the Miss Universe Pagent, the "Mr. Harvey, You're Fired!" jokes would have been priceless. I feel sooooo bad for Miss Colombia.

Anywhere you want

Steve Harvey tweeted an apology to "Miss Columbia" instead of Colombia adding insult to injury.

What is interesting is that after Harvey apologized Miss Colombia continued to preen around the stage and wave as if she was winner. What an embarrassment!!!!!!!!! I never saw anything like this. Greatest fuckup ever on live TV?

I will say that Ms. Phillipines is a very beautiful lady.

During the pageant they had to answer to a question. Miss Colombia had to use an interpretor because she speaks spanish.
She probably did not fully understand what was happening.

Although the conspiracy theory angle is interesting and makes some sense, what I find really despicable is the humiliating "de-crowning" of Miss Colombia also being done on live TV. I realize that once they crowned her incorrectly that crown had to come off, but the way they did it was extremely distasteful and embarrassing to say the least. If it was intentional then I cannot imagine that these ladies (Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines) were told of the shenanigans. Both appeared stunned and confused as to what was happening and they are not professional actresses who can pull off such emotions. And if that is in fact what happened - that this whole thing was a publicity stunt- the whole event loses credibility and if I were Miss Colombia, I would sue the pageant for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

I didn't see it live but I saw the clip. I was actually impressed that the director or cameraman actually cut out miss Colombia after Harvey announced his mistake, they were showing miss Philippine's and the woman standing beside her but just stopped short of Miss Colombia, I would imagine it was to avoid causing her further embarrassment, usually it's the complete opposite.

Johnny bird,

That clip doesn't show all of what happened. Miss Colombia was seen preening and waving after the announcement of the mistake (this apparently due to not understanding English). Later she was de-crowned on live TV. That clip was included in the USA today article I posted. The crown obviously had to come off her head, but to do it on live TV with cameras rolling was distasteful and despicable.

Nobody died really, live and learn, they'll prolly both laugh at this in 10 years. I only watched the fake crowning clip but im pretty sure all these gals were all pretty. They all deserve to win and if I could, I would prolly have babies with all of them. Hail pretty girls.

Steve Harvey is an effin idiot. He can't even spell Phillipians (sic) nor Columbia (sic) right. The card had it right. He just can't read.

From what I have read, Garotalover has it right. Harvey couldn't see the teleprompter so he read the cards. He admitted he got it wrong. He later looked at the cards and they had it right. He just kind of took a fast look at the cards, and blew it.

While Harvey has taken a huge beating in the press, I don't think we should trivialize or laugh off his mistake as no big deal. These ladies work very hard, for many years and attending many pageants, before getting to that stage. They had to win pageants at local, state and national levels. They had to learn musical instruments, go on special diets, work many hours at the gym, and dedicate countless hours to their pursuit of beauty pageant victories. I believe it would be sexist to minimize the efforts of these ladies in accomplishing their goals of getting to that stage and that final 2.

It's no different than in the Wimbledon final, on match point, the ball being called out when it is clearly in. Especially in the Latin American countries beauty pageants are HUGE business. Venezuela has won Miss Universe 7 times and Colombia has had 4 runner ups before this pageant. Miss Colombia had her whole nation watching her, and the national pride was on her pretty shoulders, only to have Harvey get it wrong and then compound the mistake by misspelling two different countries. It was a sad day for the Miss Universe pageant.

Well said and i agree with you Beav.

Btw, Colombia won in 2014 and this would have been two in a row for them

On another note, when did Chloe of Euphoria become a US Citizen? I swear Miss USA could be her twin at first glance, simply beautiful
