I saw the end of the game. I was very surprised by the result of this series as Mike Budenholzer is an excellent coach but it appears he was out-coached. What the Raptors do well is defend the pick and roll. When the score was 97-94 the Bucks had the ball and they ran an excellent pick and roll with Giannis. The play looked perfectly executed and against most NBA teams it’s a free lane for Giannis, a dunk, and maybe an and one. Someone on the Raptors saw it coming and tipped the pass away from Giannis last second. That is a game winning defensive play. I don’t know who made that play, I will have to watch the replay on it. But that kind of pick and roll defense can disrupt other teams and win games. I would still consider the Warriors a substantial favorite, and if Durant plays a prohibitive favorite. Toronto does have homecourt advantage going for them. But the Warriors have the best shooting backcourt in NBA history- they call those guards the Splash Brothers for a reason- and the best big man in the game in Durant. The Warriors also have excellent veteran role players coming off the bench like Andre Iguodola and Shaun Livingston who have proven themselves to be absolute money players when called upon.
