Thanks. Grendel2000 and Space Cadet, do you think I should enhance the Sonos soundbar with a subwoofer? Does Sonos make a matching subwoofer? What about those low bass tones I like to hear? Keep in mind my ears are not like a dog's - I need enhancements.

I googled Sonos playbar reviews, processed sound to give a 5.1 effect..... Read the CNET reviews, just my opinin but O would stay away from it as I prefer a more clean and natural sound, if you want 5.1 sound get a true natural 5.1 system.
I may be biased because I hate processed sound and really enjoy the true natural sound. Processed system just put the frequency out of phase to give it a 3D effect.
Just my opinion.

A couple of companies (Sony, Pioneer, Denon) sell matched soundbar, sub, and receiver sets. Probably cheaper and easier to set up than buying piece by piece.

The whole goal of a soundbar is to emulate a 5.1 system if not what's the point? .. Do not rely on Best Buy ☺

I have never experienced a soundbar at someones house only heard them at stereo shops, was not impressed compared to a 5.1 system.
Sonos playbar retails for $900 Canadian, Energy Take 5 Classic $800 Canadian. Just my opinion but if you compare the two you will see a huge difference, again, may be biased because I do not like processed sound.
As for hiding speaker wires. https://www.electronichouse.com/home-audio/5-easy-ways-hide-speaker-wire/
Again, just my opinion but when you spent 2K on a TV would you not want a sound system that matches it, it would be like buying a porsche and replacing the motor with a 4 banger, looks good but the thrill is missing.

And yes, do not rely on box stores for good information, can purchase there if they stock the item you want and the price is right.

Guys, thanks for all the great information and replies. I am leaning towards soundbar/woofer combo at the moment but I assure all of you my mind is very open and I will go to audio stores and listen. No decisions have been made yet, I have some strong feelings but they could easily change, especially on the audio portion of the purchase.

I don't have kids, I watch lots of movies and sports, I live alone in a condominium, and the TV will be going in my living room which is fully furnished except for the TV stand to be purchased.

I just went to another PC Richard and heard the Sonos soundbar and subwoofer. They are very good, priced the same as Bose. The salesman told me that unless I was getting the Sonos rear speakers for a multi room layout, the Bose has better sound with just soundbar and sub in one room. Since the equipment was the same price, unless the guy is getting free blow jobs from the hot daughter of the Bose CEO, he has no reason to lie.

I pretty much know what I want at this point but the remaining issue is the TV stand. All the displayed TV stands at PC Richard were for TVs up to 60". I may even go to IKEA and look at their TV stands. It's on my way home.

The salesman told me that Netflix is now streaming movies in 4K and with the Sony 65" 4K I can stream movies in 4K from Netflix unlimited for $11.99 a month. So a Blu Ray 4K player is totally unnecessary as Netflix will stream them in 4K. I don't think I will even need a Blu Ray or DVD player although I have my old crappy Panasonic if needed. And to think I paid $300 for that beastly dinosaur.

Now it's off to look at TV stands. Almost done. I think I will be watching Super Bowl on my new TV!

Word of advice, not sure how much data you are allowed per month but Netflix 4K uses a lot if you watch much TV. I had a decent data plan for internet without Netflix, when I added Netflix we went over the plan by a lot ( $120 ) and when asked the additional cost to give me proper data and speed it was only about $15 a month more.

Guys here is the TV stand I am looking at:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/z-line-...stem/5326251.p?id=1219120331374&skuId=5326251

Soundbar will go on top of stand. I can take out those mini-shelves and put the wireless subwoofer on one side and Modems on the other, or put subwooofer on other side of room.

PC Richard claims they will match anything Best Buy does so I may have them order it from Best Buy if they don't have it, in order to get my business.

PC Richard offers free delivery and set up and takeaway of old TV on any TV purchase 51" or bigger. Best Buy offers free delivery, takeaway but $100 on set up so they either match PC Richard or I go to PC Richard and tell them to match Best Buy and that means they have to buy the stand from Best Buy, if they don't have it, LOL.

Thanks I will ask Frontier about this.

I think a sub would have everything vibrating. It would make disc players skip. Don't put it in there!

That was not the plan. The plan is to put it on the other side of the room in the corner on the inside wall. I simply mentioned an option. I will likely use the TV stand to house my cable modem, cellular modem and the soundbar. And possibly the old Panasonic DVD player in case I ever need to use it again. It's a crappy old one but still works.

I just went through the same process EB as really wanted to have a kick ass system for the super bowl, plus for all my video and music needs. So bought:
Samsung KS8000 - I was considering the Sony you bought but I'm not a fan of the brand, plus got a better discount.
Klipsch RSB-14 sound bar and sub woofer. It's part of their new Stream wireless multi-room line. I had looked at both Sonos and Bose. Bose has great sound but no wireless multiroom. Sonos has good wireless but mediocre sound. The Klipsch gives me both and then some. Either way I'm sure you'll really enjoy the super bowl. Btw do you have the 4k option from your cable provider? Youll want to see Tom Brady's eyes clearly when he accepts the Vince Lombardi trophy :)

I called my cable provider and upgraded to HD service which is another $10 a month. Not sure what channels are broadcast in HD or 4K but I know Netflix will stream videos in 4K. They are supposed to call me back today so I will ask about 4K as well.
