i heard that rumor about the Sedin's about a month ago also...... indeed it will be a much different team next yr..... the NHL needs Toronto to be a winning city , it is great for hockey and i would not be surprised if somehow someway you see Taveras in TO! , i just hope that he doesnt become a sen, yuck

Well Iggy since you posted this in April it seems that none of your dreams came true. (No Sedins, no Tavares, and certainly no winning city! Just more of the same old incompetence and excuses.)

Well let's see: The Bruins have better goaltending, better defense, better forwards, better scoring, better checking, better fighters (big Georges excluded), a MUCH better coach, fewer drunks, and home ice advantage.

(They also don't have Don Cherry to lose the series by putting too many men on the ice, like he did back in the day.)

Duh...ya know what Doc? I do believe you're right: the Bruins will take the series. Since anything can happen in sports though I wouldn't necessarily predict an annihilation.

Gee THIS poster sure as hell doesn't look like a habs fan! Oh sorry it's me again - but I think that maybe everyone but Iggy will see the point.

I was once a Habs fan, believe it or not.

Oh I believe it, I definitely believe it (seriously). You've made it clear on many many occasions.

Me? I was never a habs fan (Detroit all the way!) but I do have to admit that historically the habs have been the best franchise in the NHL. The last 30 years haven't been terrific but give them full marks for the first 70. (And, to be fair, after 79 they still DID win the two Patrick Roy Cups in 86 and 93 - which is a lot better than a certain Toronto team has done.)

You're on a roll Joel :p

Strange though because Doc usually goes back and deletes or edits his most ridiculous posts a few days later. :D

Wait a minute, his "Leafs are now one of the top teams" and his "Markov's return won't have an impact" gems are still there so I guess he's really been slipping in 2009. :D

Well seeing as the word 'fan' comes from 'fanatic' and most fanatics are nuts, it explains Leaf's fans to a 'T'. :D

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanatic

Fanaticism is a belief or behavior involving uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause or in some cases sports, or with an obsessive enthusiasm for a pastime or hobby. Philosopher George Santayana defines fanaticism as "redoubling your effort when you have forgotten your aim"; according to Winston Churchill, "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject". By either description the fanatic displays very strict standards and little tolerance for contrary ideas or opinions.

and? it took you this long to figure that out? ... do i need to explain to you what it meant? .......... are you hammering the molsons tonight or what?????? I know your fake team the red wings are currently out of a playoff spot and ur "real" team the habs are barely ahead of the Leafs but WOW!!!!! whats up with you tonight.....

One problem with this prediction is that Crosby and Malkin are both centres so they cannot be the next Gretzky/Kurri.
