The ottawa senators play a dirty game and they always have. That is one team I have no respect for at all.

Los Angeles Kings' defenceman Denis Gauthier will get his day in the NHL court of law on Monday.

The veteran blue liner will speak to league disciplinarian Colin Campbell about the elbow that he threw that leveled Canadiens' defenceman Josh Gorges during the Habs victory over the Kings on Saturday.

Gauthier received a charging major and a game misconduct after leaving his feet to deliver a blow to the head of Gorges. Gorges needed help to leave the ice and was escorted to the Canadiens locker room. He returned briefly, causing a turnover that led directly to a Kings goal then did not return for the third period. It is suspected that he suffered a concussion on the play.

The 32-year old Gauthier has a history of run-ins with the League and has been suspended three times in the past already. The Canadiens were extremely unhappy with the hit.

Not to argue but why weren't any of you HABS fans showing any concern about Kovalev's blatant elbow to the back of Gagne's head when the puck wasn't anywhere near him...it was every bit as much of an intent to injure but Kovalev gets a pass. You can see him lining Gagne up well before the hit, the puck is dumped to the corner and Gagne circles back up the boards without the puck...

Needless to say the refs missed it, and so did the league... the inconsistency of both the on-ice and off-ice officials is a joke

Agree 100%...but when will the REAL architect of disaster (Murray) be gone?

True. But who do you replace Murray with? Pat Quinn?

I also think Michel Therrien's coaching days in Pittsburgh are numbered & he could be fired sooner than later.

Vigneault could get fired before Therrien, of course.

Speaking of 'fit', i purchased a batch of Toronto Maple Leafs condoms. I wonder what the girls in Mtl will say the next time i'm in town & i let them have a peak at my Maple Leafs condoms? :D

I can just see Doc's next thread now..."Should an SP have the right to refuse a guy wearing a Maple Leafs condom?" :p

Hello Boys,

I am not much of a hockey fan, but I have heard how the Bruins at full strength are practically unbeatable and have been kicking ya'lls ASS..regularly. So you fans of Canadian based teams can fight amongst yourselves, but don't forget your real trouble is just a bit south of the border in BOSTON..."City of Champions" for the new millenium!

Cheers boys,

Merlotious

I agree about Therrien. After Pittsburgh lost to the Habs last night, there was Michel badmouthing his boys yet again. No wonder they hate him and no wonder they're at least partially giving up on him. He'll be toast before long.

As for Quinn replacing Murray, very possible. Quinn is a respected hockey man and was rumored to be a candidate to replace Hartsburg. The fact that they didn't choose Quinn as the new coach might mean they have bigger plans for him. Meanwhile, a team often plays well right after a coaching change but in Ottawa's first game after the Hartsburg firing they were shut out by LA. Murray has gotta be on thin ice or his owner's a total idiot.

Quinn might be playing his cards & waiting for either Vancouver or Pittsburgh to dump their coaches. I'd see him as a better fit in both of these cities over Ottawa, which is a total mess right now. They seem to change coaches & goaltenders on an annual basis. It might just be me, but i say they had a better team with Jacques Martin behind the bench & Patrick Lalime between the pipes. Lalime was very good for them in his last season. But he had an awful game 7 in the playoffs against Toronto & the team decided to drop him just because of that particular game. I say it was a mistake that still hasn't been corrected. As for Jacques Martin, he's a heck of a good hockey man & a very good coach. He deserved better treatment than he received by Ottawa.

As for Michel Therrien, the players all mostly hate him. If you hate your coach as much & the team isn't winning anyways, you put in the least effort as possible in order to get the coach sacked quickly & hope to turn the team around & make the playoffs before it's too late. If the team plays better & wins with Therrien, they'll never get rid of him soon enough & in their minds, they're stuck with this idiot (their thinking process, not mine) and some would rather lose than continue playing for a coach they can't stand.

Hello Doc !

Pat Quinn would be a perfect fit for the Pens ! Leafs cooking gloves type of fit !
The work that Quinn did with our Juniors is remarkable.
This year he led Canada to an undefeated record in tournament play and a fifth consecutive gold medal. In 2008 at the IIHF World U18 Championships he took them to the gold against Russia by an 8–0 score !!!
Lemieux needs to wake up on this one !

Speaking of the Leafs ... guess who's in town tonight !!!
It doesn't look good at all. After the dismal Habs performance last night
in Buffalo, my beloved Habs must cripple the Leafs at all cost !

Doc & Igna the Leafs played an outstanding game !

It's unbelievable that this team isn't battleling with Florida for a playoff
spot. Then the question is ... witch is the real Leafs team ???

The one that Lost 5-0 to Buffalo OR the one we saw this evening !

I wish i had that answer Nadya, but to be honest, i was expecting the Leafs to be horrible this year and they have at times, but not as bad SO FAR as predicted........ i hope Burke makes some good trades soon, to improve for the future

Well, i'll be frank & say that if it wasn't for Carey Price, the game would have been a lot closer. He was absolutely awful!!! What the hell is wrong with him this year? Every shot from around the blueline either goes in or he struggles with it. Bad eyesight?

Many are now starting to wonder if he was worth blowing a first-round draft pick on. I also think that at this point into the season, Halak is the better goaltender. He would have been between the pipes tonight if it wasn't for the flu bug. Not sure the Leafs would have been able to win the game as easily if Halak would have played. By the way, i can't figure Carbo line changes. Didn't George Laracque play a bit too much tonight?? Why??? They'll never win by giving that much ice-time to a marginal player such as George Laracque!

The Flyers goaltending coach told the Flyers team to shoot to his glove side last year during the playoffs... he was exposed... and now eveybody is beating him glove side... He's young so maybe he can learn but his confidence looks really shaky... he doesn't even seem to move well this season... Sophamore jinx???
