And 8th place is fine. The Bruins have also been playing like crap. :)

Enjoy it while it lasts! :D

The Bruins have been struggling a bit, but i wouldn't call it 'crap'. Only the Habs have been playing like 'crap' over the past couple of months, being the team with the worse record in the East conference since the all-star break.

The team i'm pulling for right now are the NY Rangers. I absolutely love the way they've been playing since John Tortorella became their head coach. The addition of Sean Avery, Nik Antropov & Derek Morris hasn't hurt either.

As for tonight's game between the Toronto Marlies & the Habs, i'm torn. Part of me wants the Marlies to beat the Habs & kick them out of the playoff race, while another part of me wants the Habs to win in order to increase Toronto's chances of obtaining a better quality pick next June during the entry draft.

Thanks for letting us know, with you it's hard to keep track. :D

The best team in the East are the NJ Devils. I expect them to overtake the Bruins and finish 1st.

Same here. I believe the Devils are the team to beat in the East & likely will surpass the slumping Bruins in the standings. The problem with Boston is that they only have 1 quality goalie & he's getting burnt out. The back-up goalie, Manny Fernandez, is terrible.

Another team to watch who might also surpass the Bruins are the Washington Capitals. However, i don't trust Jose Theodore as their #1 goalie.

It was a great game if you were not a Habs fan. It was great to hear the crowd chant "Carbo! Carbo! Carbo!" during the last few minutes of the game.

Way to go, Leafs/Marlies!!!! :D :D

:D BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! , umm, YA Think? :D

these teams need to start looking at the NFL success and start hiring younger coaches, they can relate to the players more and the players are big babies and can respond better to that........ GLG!!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares? Anyways, the way both teams are playing right now, the Leafs/Marlies might just surpass the Happless Habs in the standings. THE HABS ARE THE WORSE TEAM IN THE EAST SINCE THE ALLSTAR BREAK!!! THANK YOU MISTER GAINEY!!!!

The bottom line: Too many Saku Koivus & Kostitsyns on that lousy heartless team. No enough Maxime Lapierres & Tom Kotsopoulos'.

11th maybe, BUT (and its a HUGE BUT) the Leafs are FINALLY on their way to getting the last few years turned around, and ALL Habs fans no this (they may be in denial, but in the depths of their souls, they no its true, whether they choose to admit it or not) ........ so while one team may be out of the playoffs this year, they (Leafs Fans) have ALOT more to cheer about right now than the pathetic 100th season that "was" suppossed to "be"! .......... GLG!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. with that said, i wouldnt be surprised at all if the habs do go far into the playoffs once/IF they make it..... i dont hate the habs, i actually root for them alot, when there not playing the leafs, but its just like how ppl hate yankees fans, the habs fans kinda give me perspective on that view, but i still love the Yanks (merlots que to say something stupid/unintelligent here) :)

Absolutely. Plus the fact the Habs will have 10-11 unrestricted free agents at the end of the season. It will be team rebuilding time & it'll be a few years before the Habs are competitive again. Word is the Habs have supposedly re-signed Saku Koivu, but will wait until the end of the season to announce it. Say it ain't so, Boring Bob!! Anyways, he's good friends with the owner's son & Boring Bob was supposedly under orders to get THE WORSE CAPTAIN IN HABS HISTORY signed to a contract. Say it ain't so Boring Bob!!!

Okay, i'll try. It's hard, but i'll try. I mean....Oreskovich, Hamilton, Deveaux, Stralman, Ondrus, etc. Gerber? :D

By the way, the Marlies are in the AHL, not the OHL.

Oh yeah...crowd favorite Mickael Grabovski picked up 4 pts tonight. His line wound up with a total of 11 pts. Well done!

you no whats so contradictory, "and" funny here is that the habs wont sign a coach who doesnt speak FRENCH, but will give the captaincy to a non speaking Frenchman? (or very little French speaking) thats so hypocritical (and funny) the management of Le Canadian in one word is a huge "MESS"

Actually what's hilarious is having 2 Leafs fans constantly "commenting" about the Habs and pretending they know about management and organizational issues (or even what "good" management is...) when their own team has been irrelevant for 40 years. Hahahaha!

"Nightmere on Rene Levesque"

whats even funnier, is that the 100th anniversary of the HABS has been a "Nightmere on Rene Levesque" for Le Canadien fans, meanwhile the Hockey World of Toronto is embracing a huge turnaround towards the future, now thats Hilarious! :D

and why do you think , only a handfull of HABS fans are relevant in this thread as we speak? i will tell you why "BOB" it because its much easier being a BANDWAGON fan than being a true fan! NO? ........ Y E S!

What's even more hillarious is that most Habs fans are so blind by their love for a crappy team like the Habs (full of marginal french-canadian players & a bunch of gutless europeans) that they often forget the fact that the Leafs were a very successful franchise throughout the mid-to-late 70's and throughout the 90's under the leadership of former Habs Ken Dryden & Cliff Fletcher, with the likes of Pat Burns & Pat Quinn behind the bench.

What's as hillarious is the fact the Habs, in their 100th anniversary, will likely make people remember this season for the fact they've sunk even quicker than the Titanic! :D

I call it the 'Nightmare on De la Gauchetiere'. As for why 'only a handful' of Habs fans are relevant in this thread, i think you're being generous by using the term loosely. A handful? You mean like 1 or 2. All of the others have done like 'Go Habs Go' and have been hiding in a hole for the past couple of months to hide their shame. Can't say i blame them. By the way, i spotted 'Go Habs Go' last night. He seems as deranged as ever, so no need to worry. ;)

One last thing: Gainey is desperate & didn't appreciate the "Carbo! Carbo! Carbo!" chants last night throughout the game. So, he's summoned party-boy extraordinaire Serge Kostitsyn from the minors. Believe it or not!! The 'K' brothers are back together again & they've never met a party they can't crash!! :D
