I do not understand what the Blackhawks were thinking. Their 2008 1st round draft pick, who is just a kid at the time, tells them the Video Coordinator sexually abused him. Their other employee, the VC, tells them it was consensual gay sex. So, they chose to believe the VC, kept him employed, and he gets a Stanley Cup ring like everyone else when they win one later that season. So in this he said, he said factual dispute between 2 employees, the Hawks:
1. Apparently held an internal "trial" and believed their Video Coordinator over their 1st round draft pick;
2. Decided it was OK for members of team staff to have sex with the players rather than do their job to help the players.
I do not get it. How about quietly firing the video coordinator and nipping a possible further issue in the bud? I guess they thought that the VC and Beach were the only gay men on the team? (BTW Beach is NOT gay, he has a girlfriend).
Can someone explain to me what they were thinking or possibly thinking?
It's the Penn State scandal all over again. Apparently they did not learn from what happened to Joe Paterno trying to hide the same kind of shit.
