WOW....big news...am still on the shock..lol...major trade for both teams.....not sure it will b that easy for HUBERDEAU with no BARKOV around ;) ....risque de se sentir pas mal seul dans son nouvel univers......and MATTHEW will enjoy a lot his new environment..;)

Lol!

Monahan was an 82 point player as recently as 2019 but last year, at age 27, when he should be in his prime, he had 23 points in 65 games. He has actually sucked monkey balls the last 3 years. A guy in his age 25, 26 and 27 seasons, who has been in the league for a while and had 82 point season at age 24, should be getting better, not worse. What happened to him since 2019 is a head scratcher. Perhaps he just could not play in Sutter's system. Whatever the case, he needed a change of scenery.

Various injuries including two hip surgeries, the most recent one during this off-season. His body’s a mess but hopefully for him that’ll be a thing of the past. But i doubt it. It was a fantastic trade by Kent Hughes in that he was able to get a first-round pick without giving up anything other than cap space, which was only possible if he could bury Price’s contract in LTIR. But i’m now hearing that Price is planning to attend training camp so who knows. Hughes mentioned that Price would likely need another knee operation if he wanted to play again & would miss this season. But i now wonder if this didn’t catch Price by surprise?

Anyways if Monahan has a decent season the habs very well will try to trade him next winter or if he surprises everyone they could re-sign him before he hits the free market next summer.

The tournament is back on schedule for the end of December at the end of this year. The only reason it was held in August is because covid caused a cancellation of the tournament last December after a few games had already been played. Due to the tv contract with TSN and all the money involved the IIHF & Hockey Canada had to re-schedule the tournament.

P.K.SUBBAN is retiring....played more than 6 years with the HABS.....joueur unique et divertissant....peut-être un peu trop pour Montréal... ;) loll......encore jeune à 33 ans....mais a pris la bonne décision.

Aura sûrement une belle carrière comme commentateur/analyste et dans la mode;)...l'ai toujours bien aimé....wish him the best....and big thanks

Subban would have preferred to continue playing but many teams who could have used him as a third-pairing defenceman were capped out or simply didn’t want to pay him more than the league minimum. He also may not have been interested in being a third-pairing defenceman but the sad reality is that his skills had eroded too much over the past 2-3 seasons & his skating suffered badly, no doubt an after-effect of the herniated disc he suffered a few years ago. I don’t believe he’s even undergone surgery for it.

He also likely didn’t feel like continue playing if it was just for the league minimum. He likely figured he could get much more money if he was hired by a major sports network that features NHL hockey. PK is well spoken, intelligent & very knowledgeable about the game of hockey. He’d be a natural as an NHL broadcaster.
