It was a stunning and amazing development that Crosby and Ovechkin both had game winning OT goals, and then when McDavid did it, you knew it was a night for the ages...................

Here is a link that has video clips of all 3 game winning OT goals. Whose goal is best?
The Crosby and Ovechkin goals are similar, but as Ovechkin was on a rush and put some serious mustard on that shot, I go with the Ovechkin goal as game winning goal of the night.

Rangers Place Tony DeAngelo On Waivers; Fight With Teammate Georgiev Is Last Straw
The DeAngelo'Georgiev Fight happened because of a miscommunication behind the net that led to Crosby taking the puck away and then scoring. Kind of sad that the Crosby goal led to a fight that led to DeAngelo getting waived, 4 months after he got a $9.6 million extension. DeAngelo now headed to taxi squad in Hartford.

Gaby,

Do you think anyone will put a waiver claim in on Tony DeAngelo? It appears nobody has done so, so far, although I read the Penguins desperately need another defenseman. DeAngelo remains Rangers property, but a statement is coming later today on how the Rangers go forward with him and whether he will stay on the taxi squad. The cap hit on his contract is substantial and it's always possible that they can terminate the contract for cause, but that may prompt a grievance complaint by his agents.

It should be a standard term of any contract in hockey that you do not have physical fights with players on your own team, but what is being said on the blogs is that DeAngelo said something to Georgiev and I presume Georgiev reacted. So it may not be a clear breach of contract. Georgiev was held out of practice due to "maintenance", whatever that is supposed to mean.

Not an easy situation to deal with and NYR not having the start they expect don't need this kind of distraction......pretty sure his agents will work hard to get him out of there....many many teams are looking for experimented defenseman....just here OTTAWA---EDMUNTON--VANCOUVER-as example-.......and yes i really think PENNS will b interested.....IMHO he is gone.

Lohud indicated that DeAngelo cleared waivers and what is likely now is a trade to one of the teams Gaby mentioned with the Rangers EATING most of the DeAngelo contract ($9.6 Million for 2 years). The best they can probably do is get someone to pick up around $3 million of it. Someone is going to take a flyer and get him cheap with salary relief, but who will it be and will they be able to keep this guy on the same page as the rest of the team?

......that said he is not a prolific-star player....this year is horrible.....he had a decent--good year in 2019-2020 with 15 g and 38 ass. for 53 pts .... that's it....BUT he could still help many teams in big needs and as mentionned by EB for peanuts.

Rangers just beat Penguins 3-1 in revenge game in NYC. Sheshterkin was HUGE, .962, game winning goal by Kreider, empty netter by Panarin. K'Andre Miller was huge, the 20 year old kid defenseman can really play! The puck was in the Rangers' end the last 5 minutes between a dumb penalty by Gauthier and excellent play by Malkin and Crosby to keep the puck in their offensive zone, but the Rangers resisted the pressure and got the big win.

I think Sheshterkin is about to rip off a huge winning streak. He is no Hamburglar.

There are always teams looking for help on the Defensive side so some team might decide to pick him up ... but how good of a defender is he when 4 out of the 5 goals happened when he was on the ice ... probably why he blew a gasket after the game as he had a real awful night ...

,,and he seems to have very bad character.....not easy to deal with...that's why T.Bay let him go some years ago...and now NYR....teams will think twice before doing a move.

^^
A couple of days ago I was waiting for the Habs game to start when I heard of his passing ... then I briefly tried to find out the cause of death because obviously he was quite young but found no news on that ... it’s quite sad to hear this now ...
