Eric Lindros shouldn't be playing NHL hockey at all. His many concussions are serious and they are cumulative. Think of a milder version of Ali ("pugilist dementia") down the road. Too risky IMHO
It is sad and unfortunate, but Lindros has really suffered a career-ending injury: it didn't happen in one shot, but several.

Ditto with Keith Primeau of the Flyers. The fact that he was the team's captain and decided to hang around the locker room didn't help the Flyers really establish an identity and consistency last year. The Flyers should trade him if he refuses to retire.

Leafs signed Mike Peca today. How well...life is never boring in Leafs Land!

Peca is a decent pickup but Leafs haven't done anything this offseason to show they have the ability to overtake the Habs next year in the NE division :p !

Are you kidding? Just by not re-signing Jason Allison, the Leafs improved
their team speed by 30%.

Have to agree with you. But they're still stuck with lead-footed Nik Antropov....giving him $1 million on top of that. A much better hockey player & scorer such as Eric Lindros would have made more sense at $1.5 million, which was his asking price to remain with the Leafs. Lindros would also have brought the Leafs lots of money in merchandising.

No kidding dude. Leafs need to do more other than addition by subtraction if they're going to overtake the Habs next year.

Has anyone been following the debacle going at with the Islanders' front office? What a joke!! What a Mickey Mouse organization!!! :D

On another note....the Leafs won't have trouble surpassing the Habs in the standings this year. Huet won't be in the nets by the time they're done with the mid-season. He was simply a flash-in-the-pan last year.....this year, he will really show everyone why he's a career 30-31 year old journeyman.....a career back-up goaltender who is presently being grossly overpaid.

What's Raycroft?

Doc,

The definition of flash in the pan can be summarized by the Leafs gross signing of Andrew Raycroft who had 1 great rookie season and has since been utterly awful. It'll be a close race between the Leafs & Habs to finish behind the B's :p

Doc,

While I'm kinda partial to Mr. Snow (as he played for UMaine), I'm beginning to think that you should send your resume over to New York. Why not? The next logical step would be to start considering people who aren't currently employed in the NHL - heck, you'd probably automatically qualify as a finalist!

(Just don't quit the day job. You know, potential career longevity issues... :D )

From what i gather, the Isles' incompetent owner named 'Wang' stated that he gave Garth Snow the job since he had 'integrity'.

Integrity? Wasn't it Snow who was using non-regulation goalie equipment? Everbody Wang Chung tonight! (remember that song from the 80's?)

The Leafs also gave up their top prospect when they could have gotten Raycroft for nothing since Boston was not going to offer him a contract - slipped down to a 3rd stringer behind Tim Thomas ( a goalie from the East Coast Hockey League!)

Watch for Toronto to miss the playoffs again this season :p

Toronto and the Islanders are both woeful, inept franchises but the Islanders are SO pathetic that they make even the Maple Laughs look brilliant by comparison. The Habs are way better managed than either but it will still probably be a couple of decades before they contend for a cup themselves.
