I think the Bruins are slowly on the way down (emphasis on "slowly" - it won't be a Leaflike collapse). Patrice Bergeron is undeniably a great, great player and Rask still has a lot of saves left in him but Chara is getting old and already showing less dominance. There are other question marks too for various reasons. (Hello David Krejci and Milan Lucic.) Hey, the B's will still do all right...but they need a new spark to be dominant.

Watch out for TBay...and in a year or two the Wings also. Both have a lot of YOUNG talent either already there or coming up soon.

I think once Chara is no longer dominant, say 2 or 3 years, the Bruins will no longer be feared or consistently be top 4 in the East.

Guess who the favorite for first coach fired is this season? I'm shocked! http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/598425
Haha, I despise Carlyle.

If Carlyle does a decent job and the Leafs squeak into the playoffs, then sadly, they might keep him for another couple of years.

Regarding Dave Nonis, he's done okay, I give him a C+ rating. But biggest mistake is signing Phaneuf for 8M and all those years. Really?

Dion got 7mil per, Phil "the thrill" Kessel got the 8 X 8.

If Mike Babcock is not signed by detroit b4 the season starts (tomorrow) then that means he likely wants out of detroit (who could blame him, have you ever been to detroit) as he said he will NOT negotiate a new deal during the season. If Carlyle does get fired he will be replaced in house most likely so that leaves the door open for Babs next summer to sign with the Leafs, his dream job. ;)

Babcock and Holland at odds, not only with new contract dollars but this as well:

Lets face it, if it is about the $ for Babcock, then he will be the coach of the Leafs next season as Rogers and Bell can offer him more than anyone and if it is about his legacy then what better place for that than to bring a Stanley Cup to the Centre of the Hockey Universe, Toronto.

Babcock has won a SC and 2 Olympic Gold Medals and to bring a Cup to TO would cement his place in history. (watch him sign with detroit in the next 24 hours now) Hahaha

That was not as bad (Yet anyways) as the Scotty Gomez trade!

Btw Canadians Fans, Ryan McDonagh was named Rangers Captain Yesterday lol...(one of the WORST trades in Hockey History)

To all the Boston fans, how do you now feel about the Seguin trade to Dallas Stars?

I agree with JC as well in that they're not really improving. The experts picking them to win in the east are out of their minds. While I would love it, the Bruins did nothing to improve from last season and arguably got worse by losing and not replacing 30 goal scorer Iginla as well as a solid D man in Boychuck. I ain't drinking the Kool-aid yet. Lol.

Seguin was extremely immature and did not fit into Claude Julien's 2-way style of play. He is abundantly talented, no doubt about that but the B's didn't fare that badly in acquiring Louis Eriksson & Reilly Smith for him. Smith especially was a very pleasant surprise!

I think Louis Eriksson will have a break out season this year. This is still a good team.

It will prove to be a good trade in the end.

It would be a sad day for hockey if Dr. Babcock ever sold his soul to the Devil by going to Toronto of all places but I do agree that if he won a Cup with the Leafs it would cement his spot as the greatest hockey coach ever (leapfrogging over Scotty Bowman and Toe Blake, who are usually considered the two best of all time). After all, if he could win a Cup with the LEAFS (!!!!!!!!!), he would have to be as much of a magician as Pavel Datsyuk!
