They looked good tonight against Buffalo - the 1-0 score flattered the Sabres - if not for Miller, the only Buffalo player to show up - it could have been 4-0. If Ottawa makes it to the Stanley Cup finals with another win, it would be the third Canadian based team to do it in three seasons (along with Edmonton and Calgary) - if they end up winning, it would be the first Canadian based team to win the Cup since the Habs in 1993.

Leaf fans would not be happy and don't want to be reminded that Toronto has not sniffed the Stanley Cup finals in 40 years :D no Cups and no final appearances, even Vancouver made it to the finals in 1982 and 1994 - so the Leafs would be the only Canadian based team not to make it to the finals in the modern era - when the league expanded in 1967 beyond the original 6 teams - what an embarrassment for a sad Toronto franchise on the decline :D

Would Ray Emery be the second black Cup-winning goalie after Grant Fuhr? So far he has been the best goalie in the playoffs. He completely outplayed Brodeur in the last series and also outplayed Miller so far-

Can Emery be better than Fuhr? He is only 24.

As a Leafs fan I would stiill love to see the Sens win it all. I know as long as the Leafs keep Raycroft aka Retard they don't stand a chance. Actually now that I think about it I'm a fan of the original 3 (Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal). If any of these teams win it's a great day.

I actually think that if Ottawa wins they might take the whole thing if they play agaisnt the Ducks. Red wings have a track record of being winners and not choke in the big game. The ducks on the other hand havent been there and I think they are lucky to win vs. the Red wings. A good series would be Red Wings vs. Senators. Anything less I think would be a sweep in Ottawa's favor.

I agree that this would be a very interesting series especially with Hasek playing well. I read a while back in the Ottawa Citizen that Hasek apparently wanted to come back to Ottawa (for less money and less years than we signed Gerber for) but management talked to some veteran players who were displeased that Hasek came back so slowly from his injury. This issue would become moot if Ottawa wins but if Detroit wins, I wonder if fans in Ottawa would second guess the management's decision to not resign Hasek.

IMO A perfect scenario would have been resigning Hasek to the incentive laden 1 year deal for 750 000 and using the money given to Gerber to resign Emery for the future. Then again, its easy to be a MMQB. :D

Anaheim, Detroit and Ottawa would all be worthy Cup winners. I'd like to see Detroit win but I wouldn't be unhappy if either of the other 2 took it. What a relief from the futility of the local "talent".

Ottawa defeats the Sabres in 5 games, in the finals against either Detroit or Anaheim. Buffalo was never really in this series - even though they won the fourth game, they were outplayed.

You should seriously consider changing your handle to gosensgo. You already seem to be on their bus and the name change would be a huge upgrade in talent. Plus the Sens actually have a present and a future, unlike the habs who only have a distant past.
