Imagine a world where the Beatles never existed. That is the premise of a new movie coming out this summer - "Yesterday'

A struggling singer-songwriter wakes up after a mysterious global blackout. Only he remembers the Beatles songs. When he plays "Yesterday" before some friends, they ask "When did you write that?" He says "I didn't. Paul McCartney wrote it." They reply "Who?" Should he pass off all the Beatles catalog as his own songs and become the most famous songwriter of all time?
Looks like a fun summer lark. Funny seeing Ed Sheeran's tips on changing the song lyrics for "Hey Jude"

I don't know. This concept might be too gimmicky to carry a feature length movie. It seems like it's trying too hard to stretch a funny SNL short into a film. Danny Boyle the director isn't known for comedies.

Random thoughts:

I love Lily James. She gets my blood boiling.

I realized Ana de Armas (the girl on the couch during the James Corden segment) reminds me a bit of Scarlett at XO. They have similar pretty, pouty faces.

You are probably right. Like most romantic comedies - interesting for the 1st 30 minutes then totally predictable for the last 60 minutes when he realizes that all that money and fame is not worth it if he loses the one he loves, Lily James ("Money can't buy me love"?) But still how bad can 90 minutes of Lily James be?

I didn't realize that was Ana de Armas. One of my favorite guilty pleasures is the movie "Knock, Knock" with Keanu Reeves. Ana is a whirlwind in this movie.
