Totally agree, Eleganza was clearly the big cheese in their heyday. What makes a great agency in most minds of a hobbyist is clearly the ladies and he had what the average hobbyist wants, youth, looks and service. Not necessarily in that order but those are the big 3. The other quality to greatness is longevity and John had that as well but like all good things, they come to an end at some time.

Enjoy what you have while you have it and do not take things for granted.

Dont know the reason Joe shut it down but there is a reason John was not running the day to day operations any longer since a year or two ago but i can't/won't discuss it here.

Sorry, but John's sometimes bad temperament and reports of poorly handling of clients has to be taken in consideration.

The bar was set with them in MOST ASPECTS

I'll concede John wasn't Mr. personality, but I don't think he was to the point where it was a problem for business.

If you were brief and low maintenance, I thought he was pretty efficient. In a busy agency like his was, it's hard to give the perfect customer service experience when the environment is so fast paced and crazy, behind the scenes. I can attest to the difficulty of that.

He still ranked lower for his customer service than most, but mostly everything else was #1. Prebooking system, competitve rates, Consistent top service level and beauty of the girls. Accurate, clear photos and listed services/statistics and most importantly, consistent influx of new talent, unparalleled by anyone.

John cared about the image of his agency and didn't employ anyone for very long who didn't meet it. If you called John, your chances for an exceptional meeting was higher than anyone. That was due to his strict highering guidelines.

He told me once, he rarely would hire girls from other agencies, as often they would come with bad habits and have a hard time adjusting to the "Eleganza" way of service.

His decision making was about the prestige of the agency and not about making the most money possible.

Amen brother James. All you have written here is true. Prebooking every Monday afternoon was a dream. And Iggy is correct. It's about the talent. I was thrilled with nearly every Eleganza girl both when I opened the hotel door and also when I closed it after they left.

I will add a few comments to what ManApart said. John was also fun to chat with after the session. He liked to hear good things about his girls. Also, like Mike of G4U, you could trust him to pick your girl.

He seemed to have a few conflicts than normal with the SPs.

In his prime from 1999 (when I first learned about him - maybe before) to 2005, Msr. Jacques was the best. He had a knack of getting the hottest girls around, and you paid the cheapest price also. His secret was he allowed the girls to do what they wanted. He was a bit older than them, easy going and not demanding. His downfall was his gambling habit, according to one girl who worked with him a long time. Veronique and Karine were my 2 favorites. Both were knockouts and voluptuous on the athletic side. All of his girls were 100 percent GFE.

He said that he tried the girls out beforehand. As the quality of his girls went down, so did his service. He still is around. But his girls are older, he says. I am afraid they are much older and not as attractive as he was once able to get. Probably because he has tried to keep his rate the same or a little more, but much less than the average.

I do agree Les filles De Monsieur Jacques was by far the best agency in Montreal for the quality of GFE services .
He was already in the business 1995 a very fierced competitor ,I had a way larger roster then he did back then but quality of service of is ladies and prices where unmatched by no one .
He was paying is drivers per hour back then because he was so busy ,not per call .
As for longevity he was in the escort industry over 12 years .
The longest continuous successful agency was fantasm witch at the prime of the 90's and first part of 2000 to 2010 decade where always top ad in JDM and had top notch hotties .
It was operated by the same owner for 20 years under the same name a prowess not accomplish by the others on the list yet

It depends what the criteria is to be judged 'the best of all time'.

If you go with longetivity, i'd have to choose Asservissante since they're still here.

Les Filles de M. Jacques was a heck of an agency back in the day. When i started hobbying, it was $130 for the first hour, $100 for the extra hours. It was a hit or miss with that agency. You could wind up seeing bombshells (and i did a few times), or so-so girls (and many of them also happened to be very popular among hobbyists). One thing, though....for whatever reason, it seemed that Jacques hated having girls that had become too popular. Maybe he didn't like the fact people kept calling & asking for them specifically....and this may have made it harder for the other girls to get bookings, who knows.

I remember when i'd call, he'd basically ask me what kind of girl i'm looking for and would tell me who he had working who would fit the bill. At one time, he had two girls with the same name (Josee) working at the same time. He'd refer to one as 'Josee from Longueuil'. I saw one of them and had a great time. She was an average-looking girl who had a bit of mileage on the meter. One night, i had already seen two girls that day and still felt horny later on. At around 11pm, i gave Jacques (or his assistant) a call and he told me he could send Natasha over. He gave me a brief description of her and she seemed ok. An hour later, still no Natasha. So i gave him a call again and he told me she was on her way. About 15 minutes later, i heard a knock on my door and in walked a statuesque, absolutely drop-dead gorgeous blond girl with blue eyes and a great body! She extended her hand and said "Bonsoir, mon nom est Frederique". I was surprised to hear her name and said "I thought i was supposed to see a Natasha?" She then apologized and asked me if i wanted her to leave. "Of course not, come on in my dear!", i said. Was i nuts?? It turned out that she had been working at a resto or bar on Crescent street that night and was supposed to finish at 11pm, but had to stay longer, so that that's why she was late. She also told me that she also danced at nearby Wanda's (i stayed at HDLM during that trip), that her divorced parents were italian and when i was surprised that she didn't have the typical 'italian' look, she educated me in that it's not uncommon to see northern italians with her features. Needless to say, i decided to keep her for 3 hours (at that price, why not?) and had a great time. She suggested we meet 'outside the agency' setting in a couple of days and i agreed. We exchanged emails, but for whatever reason, it never happened.

If longetivity isn't one of the requirements to be named 'best agency of all time', then i'd have to vote for Eleganza. John was a master recruiter and many beautiful young women started their 'careers' at that agency. Sure, he pissed off many of them & they left the agency....heck, i later learned he and my atf from that agency were actually an item at the time, but still......an incredible high number of gems wound up being recruited by him and working for him. He rarely fucked up the bookings and the pictures he posted on his site truly reflected how the girl looked. Or at least, the pictures rarely were better than the girl actually was. Several times, i'd look at the pics and tell myself "hey, she looks pretty good and my type". And when the girl would show up, i'd go "Wow! Holy shit! You look absolutely great and even better than in your pictures!"

Back in the 'Jacques' days, other agencies i'd call were "Agence Fantasmes", "Freedom" and especially "Maxximum", who had a great roster of girls and dealing with Jules (whom i later learned was banging my #1 girl at the time) was always a pleasure. I did try out a $100 agency once and had mixed results...i believe it's still in business today (but likely higher rates). But my #1 agency at the time was a high-end agency called "Montreal Girlfriends". I believe i saw most of the girls at that agency other than Lolita, Chloe & a black girl whose name escapes me. But i did meet Chloe at a later time when she started her own agency and she only agreed to see me because she had been wondering why i had seemingly been 'boycotting' her, as she put it. Our initial meeting turned into a wonderful friendship where we'd later meet for lunch or dinner when i'd be in town. I also saw a few girls from 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Alissa MTL', where i met some of my atfs like Melanie (a.k.a. Melanie Cherie) and Rachel (a.k.a. Rachel Morgan), among others. I did meet the then semi-famous "Coralie" at Sweet Dreams (under the name Victoria). She began her career at LFML and was the talk of the boards at the time...such a classy, beautiful girl for only $130 (plus $100 for extra hours).....ah, the good ol' days!!

I wound up voting for them also. John seemed to run the agency from a hobbyist's perspective. I remember when under a different handle he appeared on merb and indicated his interest to start an agency & was asking the members for help in chosing a name.

I also now recall that 'Eleganza' was always the first agency whose scheduled i'd check first to see who will be working or not. He also was the first to post a weekly schedule on Monday afternoons of who would likely be available during that particular week.

So after giving the matter some thought, i chose 'Eleganza' over the likes of LFMJ, Fastasmes, Maxximum, Asservissante, XXXtase, Dangerous Curves/Devilish, Mtl Girlfriends, AlissaMTL, etc. By the way, Heartbreakers was also a great agency (somewhat of an earlier version of 'Eleganza' when i first dipped my toes into the hobby. They ruled most of discussion & reviews on Canbest back in those days and the first two sps i saw were through that agency (bookers were Tina and Tom).

p.s. One agency that showed potential back in the day was 'First Time'. It probably was one of the most talked about agencies for the short period of its existence. He had great girls for a small price. But the owner was extremely controversial and he wound up being the downfall of his agency. I met him on a few occasions and he never ceased to amaze me with the stunts he pulled. Long story.
