Interesting how no one talks about this. Lots of supporters of Authoritarianism it is obvious. Having said that, Legault showed his true colors, Bill 96 (bashing Anglophones and Allophones to second class citizens), the strictest covid mandates in Canada (curfew), constant use of the Notwithstanding Clause to pass bills to avoid a court challenges that clearly violates the Charter of Rights. Legault creates division and is inciting bigotry. These are things to be frowned upon. Legault is the Trump of Canada.

Legault said not all cultures are equal and said he wants interculturalism (in other words assimilation). All a matter of public record.

Now Legault said immigrants are linked to violence and extremism. Legault is under damage control.

The worst part is many will still vote for him. He will still win a majority. Tells a lot about society in Quebec.

Concerning violence, you only have to see who are responsible for most of the violence in Montreal and Laval !
If you can't see that you're not watching news at all !
Look at the names of the adults arrested.
The minors aren't named but are from the same communities.

I kind of agree but not for the reasons Legault said and neither for your reasoning. I said it many times that the biggest drivers of crimes are poverty and mental health issues. If you have not realized this by now then you are not paying attention! Bringing too many immigrants from poor countries will obviously cause crimes to go up because there will be more poverty. Bill 96 exists because of Trudeau's mass immigration policy and Quebec does not have full control of immigration.

What hypocrisy. A few days ago he linked immigration to violence and extremism but now wants to increase immigration to Quebec City. Weird. Direct quote from the article:

“We’re going to work on increasing the number of immigrants who settle in Quebec City,” Legault said, adding the government would also make sure more foreign students opt to study in the capital.

I agree for that. I have been saying that for years to send the immigrants to the northern sparsely populated areas where the population is needed. But Legault saying immigrants are linked to violence and extreminism and then this is just plain weird. It is possible what Legault wanted to say was poorly expressed by him and now the media is pouncing on that. I do not know for sure.

Around the corner
I think Legault takes his voters for granted.
I think he is an arrogant prick who likes being a dictator and he has never relinquished his separatist ties or agenda, he is just waiting for the right time to implement it.
This guy wants nothing to do with Canada and wants all the power for himself, which was evident all through the pandemic. He is a very dangerous guy for all Quebecers /Canadians.

If Legault is so rotten, then who would you vote for?

He is rotten, at first I liked what he was doing with the pandemic, he was talking to the public like a leader should but then he resorted to being the arrogant prick dictator that he is and in the end Quebec ended with the most deaths the highest number of infections and highest hospitalizations, he completely fucked up with his handling of old age homes and seniors with Covid. So no he is not a hero but a zero for me.
He is nothing more than an arrogant dictator who even lies about his separatist tendencies.
He hates immigrants and minorities, he is not Premier for all Quebecers he is the same as all the other separatist parties.

Unfortunately the Liberals have also deserted their base and tried to tempt away Legault‘s and failed miserably.
I have never voted for anyone else except the liberals but this time yes it will be Eric Duhaime.

This is what Legault is concerned with, identity politics. Sene5hos bashes Trump all day but is a fan of Legault yet both Legault and Trump have many similar traits, both are bigots and are pushing bigotry. Legault is showing his borderline racist mentality. He hates immigrants and minorities. He carries on the legacy of colonialism. Does he speak the Native language? Nopes.

So the point of this is he was bothering the CEO of Air Canada because he does not speak French, then the CEO of Air Canada and now new Captain of the Habs saying how he has to speak French. Legault and Plamondon should stick to politics and fix the current state of the healthcare system, the economy, and the crumbling roads and stay out of things that he does not understand. He also need to mind his own business. It is a sport. There is no one language for sports. And the CEO of Air Canada and Couche-Tard, their job is to bring the company to profitability and both companies grew. Language is a petty issue to be whining about.
