I was thinking about this very good question and you are right that it doesn't add up. I can see mules being put on a $20,000 per person cruise on the theory that these significantly wealthy individuals will perhaps not draw as much canvassing scrutiny as the average person but in that case, you want someone who can look and behave like a wealthy and seasoned traveller. This particular cruise may have been targeted because the principal believed security at the ports of call was weak. The cruise passengers may not be subject to the same rigorous customs check as someone entering the country via an airport.

You raise good points. I've known many sps over the years who have travelled with 'clients' to various parts of the world. It never really occurred to me until now that this scenario could very easily happen to some of them if they are not more careful or aware of their client's full intentions during the trip.

So to the ladies reading this board, be more vigilant when you agree to go on a trip with a client.

Never. Could be legit, but once you're in and it isn't legit they would do everything to keep you in. No doubt some heavy coercion.

Turns out the sugar daddy theory might make sense...

So she probably took on a sugar daddy to use him for money when actually he was probably the one using them.

They will now have many years in prison to reflect how stupid they are.

Which most often I declined because they where suspicious

There are a lot of red flags on this operation and this would be the biggest one. Not sure it's easy to hide $30 million in Cocaine but once a suitcase is opened this is an easy bust and one must ask if there was a better method of concealment.

No passage trough Customs ,plastic is water proof ............a boat & plenty of water .........

There are a lot of red flags on this operation and this would be the biggest one.

For any type of smugglers or retired smuggler the answer is simple !
Tobacco ,alcohol weighed way more then drugs for lesser amounts of money and it was still feasible without ever being caught
