Dear MERBits,
Can you please answer a few question about Chablis?
I used it last time more than 1 year ago, so probably something has been changed sinse then.
1) How do I get to Chablis St-Jacques from downtown by public transportation? Google suggests to take Bus 90 from metro Atwater. Is it correct?
If so, how long do I wait for the bus? Is it possible to catch it to get back to metro late night?
2) How much do I pay for taxi from metro Atwater to Chablis St-Jacques?
3) What is their current price range for 4 hours?
4) Do they still accept cash and car plate number, no ID?
5) Some agencies have special $160 rate for downtown. Do they consider both Chablis hotels as downtown hotels?
6) Tell me please about Ideal: prices for 4 hours, payment/ID policy, etc.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Some quick answers to your questions:

1) Yes. The frequency varies depending on the time of day - you can find the schedules (as well as a directions) on the link Ariane posted. I would not depend on it to get back to Atwater late at night, but if you insist on doing so make a note of the stop number so that you can call to verify when the next bus will be.

2) A taxi would be approx. $12 to $15. (guess-timate)

3) Rooms start around $55.

4) Yes

5) Yes

6) Don't know, but I'm curious as well. Is that considered downtown for most agencies (it looks a bit far).
btw: I believe Le Chablis Cadillac is near Metro Cadillac. I've never tried it though and I don't think it's considered downtown for most agencies.

Thanks girls and guys!

Thanks girls and guys!
I visited their sites, but they don't list their short-term rates there, so I asked here about it.
Maxime, although Je ne parle pas France, I understood "Une chambre à l'idéal Lajeunesse", "demander soit la marque de ta voiture" and most other phrases w/out using any translator!:D Wow, I'm not that bad in french! :)
My understanding is both Cadillac and l'idéal Lajeunesse are in walking distance from metro stations, right?

Idéal Lajeunesse is between two metro stations: Sauvé (if you're coming from the South) and Henri-Bourassa (if your coming from Laval). It's a little bit closer to Sauvé station. In the first case, it's a five minutes walk; in the second case it's approximatively a 10 minutes walk.

Chablis is near Cadillac station. I never walked the distance because I drive to go there.

Don't know about Chablis Cadillac, but Chablis St Jacque is considered a downtown hotel for rate, special and regular.

anyone know if we can reserve in advance and know the room number in advance?
No, and no.

If you are looking for good value for your money, Colibri Motel across the street from Chablis St Jacque is $25 for 4 hours with a $5 deposit on TV remote.
