Last week I started a poll on the men`s relationship with SPs. The results were quite interesting, showing that men, at least some of those posting on the boards, are mainly willing to settle with the right person, SP or not.

Now I`d love to have the feedback of ladies on the subject. How do you see your relationships with clients?

I realize my suggestion of answers are mixing a few concepts together, and a few indirect questions could issue from those:

- Do you see the SP`ing strictly as a job, or are you in it also for your own pleasure?
- If you have dinner with a client off the clock, do you expect the guy to think he`s on a date (no more client/SP) or him to appreciate you`re being nice and "investing" in future client/SP appointments with him?
- Do you think men who indulge in the hobby can be trustworthy enough to not be tempted to hobby again while in a romantic relationship with you? In other words, do you still believe in faithful men?
- If you are still currently SP`ing, do you think a romantic relationship is possible? If yes, under what conditions?
- Same question if you have stopped SPing.

Food for thought

While talking to a friend, he made me realize that some answers might be suicidal for SPs if they were to make it public. I mean what would some of us guys do if we learn that we are only a walking wallet for this SP?

So I forgot to mention... The poll is private. SPs can vote anonymously. And please guys, DO NOT VOTE IN IT as that would screw up the results! I don't mind to receive more detailed thoughts by PM too! :)

I know what you mean. If I found out my hairdresser only wanted me for my money, I'd walk away.

I want to be loved while being groomed!

what sucks is that as guys, if we dont vote we cannot see results.... You should make a "guy, no vote" answer so we can vote that and see the results..

What about the option: I wouldn't have a romantic relationship with a client? Option 3 comes close, but adds the "real friend" part (there seems to be more than one poll going on in this poll...).

Hello t76,

When I drafted the different options in the poll, I figured business was coming first, then friendship, which was a prerequisite to romance. That's where the impression of multiple polls all in one may come from.

So you're kinda saying you would not have a romance with an ex-client, but no friendship either (since option 3 doesn't suit you). Then maybe the answer 4 or 5 applies better?

CA

PS: Do you read and reply to all your PMs? ;)

No need for that. If you want to see the results, just log out and then view the thread as a guest.

Edit: You do not even need to log out actually, just click the view poll results link at the right bottom corner.

damn, I didn't even realize that... Thanks bud

I voted for answer # one.

At this point in time I have made some good friends with gentlemen I originally met as clients. Relationships I expect to last for a long time, regardless of what I am doing with my life. I guess that means that answer #4 woud work also...

None of the options offer this as I suspect the great majority of ladies never made friends or had any relationship with any client. Of course, some clients continue to delude themselves into thinking they're "special".

GG, stick with reviews and stop bathing us in your empiric knowledge of the human race. In my opinion, we all heard enough of it and we don't agree with any of it.

Others members, please feel free to chime in.

GG, if you can't help it, do as in Casinos and ask to be permanently banned. That will only be good for you in helping to get rid of your obsession. Seriously, get help.

I suspect the person who voted for last option is our beloved GG. GG, you were not supposed to vote in this poll.

Come on guys! It's also because of comments like this that our threads become cluttered with "GG against the world" wars. Ever heard of the board's ignore list?

And GG please do not comment. I wanted this thread to be a place where SPs give their opinion, NOT GUYS!

Sorry no can do, Wolfy..After spending many, MANY months of seeing GG baiting a specific member with half-veiled comments, eventually somebody's gotta put his foot down and spank our troublemakin' wildchild...

I'll do it if nobody else will...

It seems I didn't make this clear enough, so maybe this "translation" will help:

1- I would settle with the right person, client or not. At least I would know his past.
2- I would fall in love with an ex-client, as long as he stops hobbying (and me SP'ing)
3- I'm real friend with (ex)clients, but they have been clients so no romance ever possible.
4- Some of my real/best friends were clients, and are now part of my personal life.
5- I have made "friends" here, but I'll leave them behind whenever I quit.
6- I don't mind social dinners and events, but always in a client/SP setting.
7- I meet nice people, but it's a job. Bedroom time only, nothing in public.
8- Clients are just walking wallets. Let's get this over with ASAP!

Meaning:
1- Could be Friend = YES, Lover = YES, regardless of past activities
2- Could be Friend = YES, Lover = YES, if SP'ing and hobbying BOTH stop.
3- Could be Friend = YES, Lover = NO
4- Could be Friend = YES, Lover = unspecified
5- Could be Friend = YES, but "disposable"
6- Could be Friend = NO, only a nice client for social events
7- Could be Friend = NO, not even past the bedroom
8- Could be Friend = Are you kidding me???

Now take your pick. ;)

t76, you said that you had made 'friendships' that died off when you retired from the biz. But which party caused the friendships to die off? Was it you because you were no longer interested in remaining friends with former clients in your new life, was it their choice for whatever reason they may have had, or did you just drift apart because you no longer had the 'hobby' in common?

t76, Thanks for clarifying. Now I understand why you took issue about the fact I mentioned "real" friend. So I guess you would choose option #5, there is no possible romance, and the friends are "disposable".

Maybe I should also have added the notion of "fake" friend as well?
You know, those you think are real friends during years, that you give your shirt to, but finally you discover that they couldn't care less about you?
ok, ok, CA, shut up!

Miss Lombard (I love that name!) ;)

The names of who votes what in a MERB poll can be public, if defined as such when it's created. After that, only Mods know if it can be changed or not but I'd say no. :)
