Trouble with that is Putin and his cronies don’t own rubbles , they have billions in US green backs and every Western currency you can thing of, not to mention the businesses and real estate they own all over the world.
They care as little for their own people as for Ukraine.

Yep, Putin's understanding of the greater Russia does not include Russian people. It is simply the elite, the state apparatus, and the landmass. Russian rulers always despised their own people.

Yes horrible and we are all watching it and basically doing nothing effective to stop it that is the real tragedy.
How long does Putin have to keep this up and how many have to die needlessly before NATO and the rest of the world will do the right thing and put an end to it.
Are Ukrainian lives less worthy of saving than NATO or the US. There is no bargaining with a barbarian like Putin eventually he will have to be stopped.

This is the problem Fradi. Nobody knows how to force the major nuclear power to admit defeat in a war that it claims to be existential. That is why despite all heroic resistance, the Ukraine is quietly pressured by US and allies to surrender to some Russian demands.

The Minuteman makes a good point. Is Ukraine really worth risking a nuclear war?
Let's be honest about this Zelensky character: he is getting obnoxious and whiny. I feel bad for the Ukraine people but I don't think they are being well-served by this clown. Did he really have to agree to get his country to possibly join NATO in the future, knowing that Putin was against this? Russia doesn't want enemy missiles on its doorstep any more than the USA wanted this in Cuba 60 years ago. So Zelensky had to poke the bear beside him and now expects the West to bail him out of the situation he helped bring about. So here he is whining and pleading for international help on social media. Can you imagine Churchill doing that? So the Western powers should risk nuclear devastation due to Zelensky's bad decision?
Btw doesn't this guy own a tie or a razor?

These are all countries that share some kind of border with Russia.
Table of countries that have a border with Russia (listed counterclockwise around Russia).[1]

Some are NATO members some are EU members so there is plenty of opportunity to have enemy missiles on their doorstep.
What gives Putin the right to deny a sovereign country to join NATO or any other organization.
Looks like this “clown“ had the right idea to seek membership and thereby the protection of NATO from a madman next door.
Wonder if NATO will still feel the same when he attacks the Baltic countries some of which are NATO members.

I agree Putin has no "right" to invade a sovereign country or tell it what to do, but realpolitik isn't about right or wrong. It is what it is. Zelensky poked the bear and now he is paying the price.
Never let your mouth write a check that your ass can't cash.
Apparently he thought the West would jump to his aid with military defense because they all hate Putin.
Looks like he thought wrong.

Btw I had no idea Norway borders Russia. According to Google maps it actually does!

Yes he is certainly guilty of miscalculating both Putin and the fact that the West is too chicken shit to do the right thing.
Unfortunately the Ukrainian people and the Russian will be the ones to suffer the most, but Putin will be stopped because he will not stop with Ukraine.

In the Netflix TV series "Occupied", which is about a Russian invasion of Norway after Norway decides to shut down oil and gas production and switch to alternative energy, there are many scenes which take place at the Norway-Russian border. This also includes a murder which occurs on the Russian side of the border.

Voznesensk, the tiny little town that turned away a Russian force...and WON

"The Russians didn't know where to look or where the next attack would come from. I've never seen the community come together like that," he said, standing by the twisted wreckage of the bridge, which Ukrainian forces destroyed within hours of the first Russian attack.

As on so many frontlines in Ukraine, British-supplied anti-tank missiles proved crucial in turning the tide against Russian armour in Voznesensk, leaving the town littered with up to 30 tanks, armoured cars and even a helicopter.

"It's only thanks to these weapons that we were able to beat our enemy here. And we say thank you to our partners for their support. But we need more. The enemy's convoys will keep coming," said Mr Velichko.

So, is Zelensky someone you still take seriously?
Maybe we can also embed this video in the Very High Heels thread.

Bbw where do you dig this Russian fake video shit up ?

Wtf do you mean by Zelenskyi poking the bear. He was elected 5 years after the last Russian invasion, by 70% of Ukraine voters, and has done nothing to provoke this ugly war.
Some of your recent comments make you sound like a putin apologist....or worse.
Zelenskyi is fighting for his country and his life and you are poking fun at his army fatigues and unshaved face . Get real dude .

It does matter anymore what it was before the invasion. Yes, there were some elements of the right-wing nationalists “Nazis” in Ukraine whereas other people sympathized with Russia. There were also a lot of corruption, the government underestimated Russian threat, etc. Many mistakes were made. It does not matter anymore. Looks like now the mood in Ukraine is universally united against invaders that inflicted colossal suffering, destruction, and death on general population. This is black and white now like in WWII and like Germans all Russians now will pay the price for their support or silence that enabled Putin this crime. At the end nukes will not save Putin, just force the West moving more carefully.

No it’s not worth Nuclear war. The overwhelming majority of people do not want to risk their life or those they care about for a war not even taking place on this continent. Any leader deciding not to make that choice isn’t working for their citizens. Russia is awful and what they’ve been doing to Ukraine even before the war is disgusting, but it’s not our responsibility to rush towards mutual assured destruction. This isn’t a world war. Whether Russia continues on or pulls back, I just don’t want my countries life at risk.
