OK, this is admittedly a weird place to ask this, but at what age did you find out that there is no Santa Claus? How did you find out? Is it better to tell kids (and if so then when?) or better to let them just find out on their own?

I found out there was no Santa Claus when I saw my Dad dressing up as him. I must have been around 7 or 8 years old.

I would imagine with digital technology and access to the internet, something I did not have, that children will find out much earlier nowadays.

Why only kids? I still believe in Santa. I just don’t believe in getting presents for free anymore :D

Around the corner
Where I am from he comes on December 6 ( Saint Nick day) and he has nothing to do with Christmas.
Children shine their shoes and boots and put them outside and if they were good they get presents. small things like candy chocolates and if they were bad a piece of coal or a twig.

It is baby Jesus who brings the Christmas tree and rewards children who were good not Santa at Christmas time.
Christmas is a religious holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Unfortunately it is slowly starting to change and Santa is starting to show up in malls and places during the Christmas Holidays.
It seems nobody misses a chance to make a buck.

Even Halloween has caught on which was unheard of before.
