SP who show their face, is this possibly problematic?

Yes it's true I am paternalistic.
I wouldn't want my daughters to show their faces, if they worked in this field.

Your pornstar is not a good example.
Almost all pornstars show their faces.

I am very aware that the majority are educated, and that they must have thought about it a long time before making their decisions.

I sure hope that if your daughters ever choose to be sex workers, you would try making their job safer by advocating for decriminalization instead of advocating hiding their chosen profession. And also question yourself as to why you are comfortable hiring providers yet still think this job is something to be ashamed of.

As a client I like to have as much information as possible before committing my hard earned cash . i respect both SPs who show their faces and those who do not , but prefer to see the face ,.SP's ads are an important marketing tool to attract new clients , I'm sure they give a lot of thought to their content , balancing their privacy with the impact of their ads .

Is it true that several ladies are banned from travel to the USA due to facial recognition? They had traveled to Vegas and California and escorted and they were harassed at the border...how does a young lady like yourself spend a week or two in Vegas and stay at the most expensive hotels and not have a job? Sorry, you’re banned...

I love girls that show their faces but once it’s out that’s it.

I thought about it well:

1) That it is not an easy decision.
2) You have to realize that they have thought well before showing their faces.
3) That we must respect the decision of each SP.
4) That in this decision all impacts have been considered.
5) And finally that those who show their faces are serene in their decisions and that the judgment of others will not change anything.

Special thanks to Rose for explaining her decision to us.

Actually, a lot of SPs who do not show their faces have been banned as well (notably Madison Winter). It is not due to facial recognition, rather travelling patterns and such.

For those who hesitate.

I think that the best compromise would be to put a transparent veil but opaque enough to hide the facial characteristics, with this veil we can use our imagination.

we gotta realize that they're not only hiding their identity from clients, but also from their close ones in real life. A semi-transparent veil will do the trick for clients, but her relatives might very well recognize her.

Sometimes even hiding her face can't protect an SP from being found out by her friends and family. A popular Girls on Fire/Chloe's Playground girl was found out by her stepfather. The conversation came up as I was curious she suddenly decided to show her face when we met for dinner at Mikasa. I was like wow suddenly you just showed your face. Then she replied that she got "disowned" by her family when her stepfather "wandered" into the Girls on Fire website. He recognized the necklace she was wearing and even with a blurred face he knew it was her. Then it was all downhill afterwards. With that she just let it all go.

Soooo... when you know someone well enough even a blurred face can't protect you. The way you hold and carry yourself like how you stand and sit the ones who know you will know. If your photography shows a birthmark for instance it is a big giveaway.

@ Numerati I agree that it’s easy to be recognized by someone who knows you well even with blurred face pictures and all , each one of us has a unique way of standing still or sitting on a chair or sofa . Jewelry is another dead giveaway but as for tattoos or birthmarks not so much as those are usually not shown on agency websites and for obvious reasons of course . But forget about wanting them to show their blurred faces as a lot of the girls these days don’t even want to show their bodies anymore for fear of being recognized by their friends and family , one needs only to look at one or two very popular agencies and there they will see a lot of girls that have no photos whatsoever , just their names stats and measurements

For myself and the majority of hobbyists an SP’s facial attractiveness is one of the most important criteria’s for us wanting to book them , it’s just the way it is but at the same time I wholeheartedly understand their reasons for wanting to reveal as less as possible . There are not many things that I value more than privacy in this pastime and I’m guessing that goes double for the SP’s
Luckily we have escort review boards where one can follow their favourite reviewer that is trustworthy enough to give a fairly accurate description of the ladies in question , and then of course we do have loyal trusted clients of agencies that get a bit of a preferential treatment so to speak ( for their eyes only pics ) , so for some there are ways around this

And although Quebec society is one of the most open minded in North America there is still the Stigma associated with sex work and that’s why so many SP’s live double lives and why I suppose we’ve seen some comments/remarks here (some nasty ones as well that got deleted) that indicate that it’s a touchy , sensitive subject for many ... after all the Montreal escort scene is famously known for the young college amateur types that are local or from the nearby suburbs and that are usually in it for a short term and haven’t chosen it as a career . Big difference from the European brothels where a lot of the working girls are professionals that are imported from Latin America and the eastern bloc and don’t have to worry about their families finding out .... here the majority are locals that don’t plan on doing this forever and it’s a small world after all ... my 2 pennies worth

But if she hasn't told anyone, yes it can happen, but the chances of being recognized are extremely thin that it does.

I told myself that today with social networks, we had to be careful.

It will always be a personal and assumed choice.

@No_Church_InThe_Wild,

My big question mark is not how and that she was caught. It is the fact that her stepfather was looking at and knows about Girls on Fire and Chloe's Playground and their website. LOL. What and why is he doing there???? Imagine he goes and books her? Double/Triple/Quadruple LOL with a major head shake.

A relevant question, do you think that if SP shows her face, she is more likely to have clients?

I think it is safe to assume yes she will have more first time clients as some will certainly be attracted to her face and book her for a first visit, but after that she will need to rely on what kind of experience that client had with her.
There is no denying that it is nice to be able to see their face when making that first decision, but again I will say that I have never been disappointed with ones that don’t, most are well above average looking facially as they are in all categories.
For me it is not a deal breaker not being able to see her face, my ATF and the lady I see most often after her don't show their face.

Personally I chose to show my face because I felt comfortable with it. Now I appreciate it even more as a stance against the stigma we face as sex workers, there is nothing to be ashamed of. But I also don't want to do anything else and my close-ones know. So I'm very ok with my face being out there, but I understand those who prefer to remain anonymous. It's a very personal choice that requires a lot of thinking, nobody takes this decision lightly.
I have to think that another reason you chose to show your face is that you know your smile makes most men powerless to resist you.

Going back to the OP's original question - could it be problematic? Sure it could be. Every step of deciding to be a sex worker has the potential to lead to problems. As long as there is stigma against sex work and as long as there are jurisdictions (like the USA) that criminalize it, then all sex workers will be faced with potential problems that people who choose to work as teachers or plumbers do not have to face. But as Rose has tried to explain, the women who choose this path put thought to these potential problems because they will be faced with the consequences.

A beautiful face will bring a lot of customers, but it's no guarantee that you will get amazing service.

Luvdozer, I like your post. I think like you.

It's greatly beneficial that those who show their faces have told everyone around them, so as not to cause unnecessary grief and disappointment.

And if their face is everywhere, I would be afraid to travel outside the country.

We all know that all reputable agencies are sending face pics to their clients and I would bet a toony that their girls did not give their consent.
(That bothers me...)

So of course girl's faces are selling argument.
But Discretion is very important in this field of work. It's important for the clients, and for the girls for about the same reasons.
Familly, real work, boyfriend/girlfriend etc...

Also, There are sick clients even on merb... Psycho, Stalkers, Haters...
If you've been involved here long enough, we all heard of horror stories about girls who've been blackmailed, exposed, etc...
There was a website I do not recall the name, where popular SP's here were exposed with their full names, etc...

I think when a girl decides to show her face in her ads, it might keep her from getting threadtened.
Because, the haters assume her family and friend knows about her job now, so they can't attack on this side...

I know few girls that used to show their face and then stopped and regretted afterward after they found true love or other reasons...

Years ago you would never see that, these days I see ads for SP, erotic massage with their face in the pic. Some are real ( from personal experience ), and some are not their real pics.
