Yes, Bertuzzi and Heatley are criminals. That, and fears of the terrible vengeance that Sidney Crosby is going to exact on the Coyotes and Gretzky, has me thinking that these guys will be deactivated due to phantom injuries, Spezza and Staal promoted to the active roster, and Crosby named an alternate. That would be justice, for all.

Even though guys like Staal and Spezza did not prove anything in the NHL so far, you have to go with who's hot. Staal and Spezza, right now, are among the top ten players in the league. They are hot right now, it was imperative to put them on the team. Bertuzzi is on the first gear since the begining of the season, will he shift? Who knows? But RIGHT NOW he is unworthy of the job.

That Mr.EagerBeaver is just one example of why you are one of my favorite posters here on MERB - agree or disagree you are always entertaining!

By the way gentlemen, another factor that may have come into play when selecting the rosters (both Canada & USA) is that the Olympics will be played under the OLD rules and not with the "New NHL" rule book. We are going to need guys like Bertuzzi(who now has 4 goals and 2 helpers in his last 5 games) & Thornton in front of the net as no one will be allowed to just stand there untouched anymore.

Sure Spezza & Staal are hot now (don't get me wrong I like these 2) but would they be both having career years under the old system??? I don't think the Olympics would be the best time to find out.

Crosby should be on the team EagerBeaver he fits in the Gretzky/Lemieux/Yzerman catagory.
