STEVENS will play HALEP for the TITLE.....will cheer for Sloane....can she repeat?....after winning the US OPEN last year......malheureusement j'en doute fortement HALEP is on a mission....looking for her first big one......she is on fire and just too perfect.....should win.

Men's demi-finals.......NADAL VS DEL POTRO....DEL POTRO IS A WARRIOR BUT NADAL IS ALSO ON A MISSION......TROP HABILE,AGILE AND JUST TOO PERFECT....SHOULD WIN

THIEM VS CECCHINATO???....YOUNG THIEM SHOULD WIN....and play NADAL for the Championship.

Enjoy.

Women's final......HALEP-STEVENS.....2 beautifull and sweet girls and a great match. I knew it was a big challenge for Sloane and it was.......she even won the first set BUT HALEP just too too good....congrats Simona...a great Champ and a great number one. In many ways she reminds me King Roger.....

always cool, calm and in control. Tomorrow men's final Nadal-Thiem.....another Championship for Rapha? I really believe so.

Gaby,

Sloane Stephens did well to make the finals- and to take a set. If you look back at history there are not many Americans who do well at the French and it’s because they all train on hard courts in Florida. McEnroe never won the French (although had 2-0 lead on Lendl in 1984 final and blew match, which he later said was due to Lendl’s superior conditioning, which was true because he kicked Lendl’s ass big time the first two sets). I don’t think Sampras won the French either. Agassi and Courier were baseliners with games better suited to clay. McEnroe and Sampras were serve and volley players. McEnroe in my opinion had the most underrated serve in the history of tennis and was the most creative volleyer of the last 45 years in tennis. McEnroe serve is incapable of replication because of the high ball toss. Gaby I challenge you to watch film of McEnroe serve and try to emulate it in a practice match. Guarantee you will double fault your ass off. McEnroe serve was hard to predict off the racket and his placement was SUPERB. My favorite player of all time.

Thiem gave his best in the first set BUT Nadal-----King on clay----won in 3 sets.....too energic and perfect....his 11th French Open Champshionship.....quite an accomplishment....BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO.

THIEM AND ZVEREV are not there yet BUT with them la relève du tennis est entre bonne main.....plus 2 nice kids.

Next stop......WIMBLEDON.

Thiem is close to being ready to win a major but not there yet.

IMHO, Roger Federer is done with majors and I think Nadal will win 2 more. Federer will finish with 20 majors and Nadal, with 19. I think Djokovic, due to his elbow injury, might also be done.

What this means is that the Thiems of the tour now have their chance, at Wimbledon and the US Open, to do their damage. We could see new winners at both events. Would not/should not surprise.

Zverev and Cilic could be big threats at Wimbledon and US Open, but I am not a big fan of really big 6'6" guys who can be run around. I have yet to see a 6'5" or over player who could consistently move around the Court well and play good defensive tennis. Smaller guys like Agassi and Chang= great on defense. Even Goran Ivonisevic, he was feared mostly due to his serve and not his mobility. This is why Thiem might have a better potential long term than the big dudes.

Does anyone remember Mark Phillipoussis, the "Scud" from Australia? He was supposed to be a great one. Big strong 6'5" kid, eventually made the top 10, but never won anything, going to two major finals and losing both. I saw him play one year in New Haven, back in the 1990s, and he got hosed by Patrick Rafter, a smaller, quicker, more clever player.

I concur with you EB....It's all about agility and positioning in tennis...Height and power can only carry you so far. The ability to adapt to different playing surfaces also plays a big role.

Raonic, Isner, Cilic,Monfils et bien sûr King Roger ----who is looking for his 9th title---move on. Btw Roger signed a new agreement with UNIQLO....300 millions-10 years....pour porter leurs vêtements....cela le mène à 47 ans...lol. Dimitrov---6ème tête de série--is out.....big surprise.

Serena, Venus ,Keys, Wozniacki, Pliskova move on......Stevens---4ème tête de série---is out.

Bouchard and Shapovalov play tomorrow.

Ostapenko, Kerber who looks very good and Halep move to 3th round.......surprise.....Mugu--snif snif--is out. BTW 6 des 8 têtes de série féminines sont out.....c'est le tennis féminin MAIS j'adore.......Halep devrait sortir de son tableau et même devenir la nouvelle Reine de Wimbledon.

Milos plays tomorrow...should do it....go Milos.
