It's such a funny response to what I said earlier because I was talking about my income and the stability of my schedule being affected by so many cancellations.
Yeah the construction on Ste-Catherine is why I avoid downtown at all cost. It seems like it's never ending.
Just mentioning the word 'deposit' on here pulls all the wild, alarmist responses from out of the woodwork. Deposits aren't scary coming from established and well-reviewed providers (such as yourself), nor for clients that do their research and plan accordingly. Whether or not you implement them is a choice you have to make for your business but for what it's worth I think it would likely cut down on some of those bs no-shows without too much disruption to other clients. Good clients that respect your time probably wouldn't have an issue with it.
Bc I usually have to book far in advance for when I travel (or when women are travelling my way) I am used to putting down a deposit and I definitely don't mind it. It feels more official and set in the calendar and builds anticipation. I've never been burned with a deposit yet either so they don't faze me.
Yesterday slept at 1, woke up at 4:30 and wasn't able to sleep back.

Unfortunately, there are many disadvantages for me to implement deposits. When it comes to BDSM sessions I absolutely have to enforce them because there are too many times wasters..
With escorting, a lot of serious clients don't want to screen and send deposits, unfortunately. That's what the scene is like here. Or if somebody wants to send a deposit, they want to send it in gift card form. It makes me uneasy because it limits how I spend that money...
Anyways the point is mostly that I'm disappointed by having multi hour bookings cancelled.
Maybe you already do this but, the other providers you are comfortable with and trust enough should set up a way to exchange gift cards between yourselves for cash or other gift card you might need at that time.
There are Visa gift cards, Amazon and other large stores where you can buy nearly anything.

You can't buy anything with an Amazon gift card which is what most people offer, that's not true.
Even with a virtual Visa gift card, you can't pay off your own credit card, you can't pay a bill, you can't buy a bus/metro pass, you can't buy a plane ticket etc etc. A lot of stores don't take gift cards as payment too. And you can't send money to someone or pay them for a service.
If your boss decided to pay some of your wages in gift cards wouldn't you be pissed?
I hate how the public healthcare system forces you to go private for a lot of issues but then criticizes you for it. Yes, I’m gonna pay 4000$ for this service, a service that the public can’t offer me anyway so I shouldn’t receive backclash from any healthcare representative about it
Yeah. That's been a huge problem all my life when I couldn't afford going private, and a major cause of financial stress for me in the last few year when I decided to finally get private healthcare services... With the money I make as a SP and couldn't make any other way.

He's not wrong, and taken outside of a local (NA) context that would absolutely be the prevailing general attitude and It is with many people here too. The thing is that it's important to take in the entire tapestry of the mongering experience and to make the distinction between the small group of SPs we know here on the board and the total population of SPs at large. I think we all agree that you could probably pay deposits to the ladies that post here and they would very likely treat them responsibly. However, when making statements of this type we're talking about everybody, not just the 6-10 SPs who post here regularly. I think everyone would also agree that there's a lot of con artists out there that the ladies on this board are not representative of, but who vastly outnumber the ladies here. Those ladies do not inspire the same level of confidence and trust and as mentioned there's a lot more of them. If you're going to make a rule it might as well be a consistent general rule and cover the majority of the likely experiences. Everyone can make their own decisions in that regard.
