The girls should impose you US guys a 40% tariff...,

When an American guy pays a Montreal girl for sex, that is effectively an export of services from Canada to the U.S. Countries don’t tax their own exports—they tax imported goods and services.

Quebec could try to collect value added tax (sales tax) on sexual transactions. But Canadians would have to pay it too at a rate of 15%. Do you really want to add 15% to the cost of every transaction with an escort? :D

The best rate by far is at an ATM. However, a big however, some banks' ATM will ask you if you want them to make the conversion for you. The answer is NO. They will charge you a significant commission. Otherwise, you will get the EXACT international exchange rate less a few dollars. I find that my bank in the US charges me $1.00, the ATMs bank $2-3 Canadian.

I've used Calforex myself when I have a large amount of cash to exchange. They certainly are the best for-profit place to exchange. If you're exchanging your daily maximum with your atm card, the ATM is a few bucks cheaper.

Look behind you.
Just did a Google search and Calforex has the lowest rating at 3.6.
Just sayin.

98-02, was the USD strong, or the CAD weak? What was going on in Canada in those 5 years?

I'd like to know where can I find best currency exchange rate with low commission in Montreal.

One of my good buddies used to go to Chinatown where he said they had the best rates (over Califorex & all the others) in Mtl by far. I once asked him if it was worth making the trip there (if you weren't staying close by) and he responded in the affirmative.

Thanks you all.
Will go to Calforex before my vacation in the US.
Does Canada not have any cards offering no transaction fee? Generally speaking, absent transaction cost, buying a foreign currency in a country is more expensive; supply and demand. If you are crossing the border with more than $10K USD, it should be declared to CBP (not sure about CBSA.)

You're looking for US dollars? I can't speak with authority on this, but my sense is that if you want US dollars, get them in the US, not in Canada.
