Not to blow on your parade but it was MIAMI! my Mom could beat Miami this year!

More impressive was last weeks win against Dallas.

Hello CJ,

Yes, of course. But 42-7 at halftime. C'mon, even against Miami that's impressive. The only reason the Patriots didn't score 70 is because they had some pity on the Dolphins.

Week 8: Here are mine

  • Indy at Carolina: There has to be upsets in life, am going with Carolina against my better judgement on this one;
  • Detroit will take it over Chicago cause Chicago is in serious trouble;
  • Pitt at Cinci, at the begining of the year I will have easily picked the talent loaded Cinci over the rebuilding Pitt or so I thought, now, Pitt all the way;
  • NYG over Miami, everone else does;
  • Philly vs the Vikings, going with the Vikings cause they are at home and someone has to actually win this;
  • Cleveland over the NFC equivalent of Miami;
  • Tenesse over Oakland;
  • Bufalo over the Jets;
  • The Chargers continue their recovery over Huston;
  • The West beats the East on this battle of Florida's team, TB all the way;
  • Redskins at New England, the Redskins are not that bad, but not good enough, plus I can only carry one major upset a week, NE on this one;
  • NO over SF;
  • Green Bay over DEnver although it will be extremly tough
There you go

How are the Bears in serious trouble? They're only 1 game from playing for .500 & they've been playing much better since they've benched that bum Rex Grossman. They're playing very good football with Brian Griese as their QB.

Well I guess it all depends of your perspective, are they playing good NFC North football? I doubt it, I do not think they are at he level of the Packers.

Are they playing good NFC football? Allow me to question it seriously, I do not think the level of the Bears can be compared to that of Dallas at this point in time, for example.

Are they playing good Super Bowl football? In no way, Indy or NE will have a field with them.

So if you consider 500 to be the mark of a good team, then by all means they are doing good, yet what really counts is the ring and for that 500 does not cut it.

Of course IMHO

The Bears in Trouble the Pats out of this world!

Doc,

It is a shame to see a very good D like Chicago's get the short end of the stick all the time, they are out there for what seems most of the game getting slapped around while the offense (Grease or no Grease) keeps making mistakes: 4 picks today including rigth in the end zone, no way to win, sorry for the Bears fans!

On the other side the Pats score 52 points! On the Redskins!, I knew they will win it but the Redskins D was well suited to the Pats and still got their tushies bitch slapped by NE. Brady for President!

Mr Cool

Hello Joey Cool,

I see you like to rely on home teams. Well, we shall see if that philosophy holds up. Me, I look at the stats first, then if it's very close I will go with the home team...maybe.

Good luck,

Korbel

I don't know who's the most awful team in football right now.....the Dolphins? The Rams? The Jets? The Jets were plain awful yesterday against the underated Bills. It's time to put that bum Chad Pennington out to pasture! Mind you, his replacement Clemens didn't fare much better. But at least, he can throw the ball. Looks like San Diego & New Orleans are back & finally playing like they're supposed to be playing. Heck, even the Chiefs have looked like the Chiefs of old....is it just a coincidence that Priest Holmes is back in the lineup?

Hello Doc,

Last week I thought the Jets had a chance against the Bills. I also favored the Bears now the that gross Grossman has no one to chace his behind than the bench. How wrong I was. Well, Chicago is not playing and I am dumping the Jets this week.

It was perplexing to see some sports analysts say the Colts have a better receiving core than the Patriots. The stats sure don't show that. It's the kind of analysis that cries out for random drug testing on a daily basis. Patriots weakness...the running game. But the Colts are facing a healthy New England secondary, unlike last year, and a receiving core thrice better than the "Ooops receivers" the Patriots had last year. It should be a great game. Player for player, the Patriots are better. I think only turnovers can beat them.

Cheers,

Korbel

Damn!

Hello all,

Geeeeez, are the referees trying to give this game to the Colts! Totally bogus pass interference call against Hobbs at the 5 yard line when he had position all the way early in the 2nd quarter.

DAMN,

Korbel

New England may be the best football team on the planet, but clearly they're no match for the Curse of Joe.T, one of the strongest forces in the universe.

Hello Rumples,

Looks like you may too early for this. Even the curse of Joe.t couldn't stop the Patriots.

Patriots 24 Colts 20

VICTORY!

Korbel

Not that the referees didn't try to give it away with two major bogus penalties and about 150 yards in total penalties against the Patriots.

True enough, but they didn't cover so Joe.T is short a few clams if he put his money where his mouth is. (And with his head in it's usual place, that's money I wouldn't want.)

Most of them earned (that second long PI was wrong). An entertaining football game all the way through. In the end, it came down to the Pats' receivers making catches and the Colts' receivers dropping catchable balls.

Hello Doingittodeath,

That pretty well describes the AFC Championship game last year, except now the roles were reversed and the shoe was on the other foot. Also, I do like Manning, but how humiliating to lose the ball that way by fumbling it directly to a defender a few feet away at the critical moment.

Frankly, I was disgusted by both the referees, and the way the Patriots play calling got away from their passing strength so often. I think the Colts played almost as good as they can get. But the Patriots were terrible with penalties aside from the blown calls by the referees. Despite the win there is plenty of room for improvement for the Patriots. I am sure Belichick will be hard on the team for all those penalties.

Korbel
