- Baltimore 26 over Arizona 23 (D Baby - D)
- SD 24 over Green Bay 31 ( The offense finally puts it together, if they can only not make the opening mistakes that doom them in the New England game, they have the talent!)
- Pitt 37 over SF 16 (The Pitt Steelers are real contenders this year!)
- NE 38 over Buffalo 7 (Someone said today that Spygate is the worst thing that could have happend to the rest of the league! and it might be true!)
- Indy 30 versus Houston 24 (Houston was the last team to beat Indy last year, this is my upset of the week, I go with Houston!)
The rest:
- Tampa Bay 24 over Saint Louis 3 (There is no more unidemensional offense than the STL)
- Detroit 21 over Philadelphia 56 (Mcnabb grow up!)
- Miami 28 over NJ 31 (cause they just have no means (NJ) to win)
- Minessotta 10 over Kansas City 13 (KC is a work on progress)
- Seatle 24 over Cincinatti 21 (becausae it is in Seatle)
- Clevaland 24 over Oakland 26 (why not!)
- Denver 14 over Jacksonville 23 (I wish Denver will loose, yet they always find a way to win)
- Washington 17 over NYG 24 (NYG is in trouble)
- Carolina 27 over Atlanta 20 (Vickgate really hurt this team)
CJ
Hello CJ,
6-8 That's about as well as I do at this stuff. A friend of mine loves Denver. When I looked at their schedule I told him "don't be surprised if they lose 4 in a row". I think they will lose 4 out of the next 5.
I am not sure who I would have picked on many of these games. I follow New England and not a lot else. I think I am getting a better feel for the teams after three weeks. Maybe next week we can compete. But, I would not have picked Houston over Indy. I did call the New England game right to a friend though..."Buffalo will have a hard time getting 10 points without being able to capitalize on turnovers, and the Patriots will go over 30 points again". Yes, not much of a prediction really.
Well, the Patriots were a bit sloppy through the first quarter, and the Bills defense also had some good stops in the beginning. A Brady fumble cost them a score. But once the Patriots got things in sync it was all over. Now that Brady has all of those weapons through the air in Stallworth, Welker, Moss, and Watson, the ground game is also benefitting from the need for the defense to be very careful with the receivers. Even on their own, Morris and Maroney are very solid backs, the type who hit quick, hard and fight for extra every time. Still they the team did not have it together early in the game, showing they still have neough to work on to get better...lol. Is that scarry for the rest of the league. It ought to be.
NOTE: Brady had 24 TDs all of last year. He's got 10 in 3 games this year. OUCH!
As you said: "Spygate is the worst thing that could have happend to the rest of the league!" Of course there were people involved in the episode than Bill Bellichick. That is a given. But to impugn the honor of so many generally honorable players, especially those still there who accomplished so much, will give this team something to prove all year. There are no excuses for what Belichick and the others involved did to cheat. But it was a mistake to attack the entire organization and the motivation it instills on this team can only make it tougher for everyone they face. I am not saying they will win every game or even win next week. But with the kind of talent this team has the opposition DID NOT NEED to face a Patriots team now also motivated for redemption.
Too-da-loo,
Korbel
