Oilers still sucking, hard to put 2 games in a row, thankful their entire division is not doing well, 8 points out and many games to go.
I actually thought they played a great game last night but the only difference was the Toronto goalie (Mclhinney) being a brick wall throughout the night. The Oilers considerably outshot Toronto bombed the Leafs goalie throughout the game and ended up losing only 1-0. I found the Edmonton goalie (Brossoit) to be very good also.
McDavid will have to learn to shoot more instead of always looking to pass the puck when a good scoring chance presents itself. But most importantly he'll have to greatly improve on the face-offs. He was terrible in that department last night and it's hard for a team to win games when your best player regularly loses 8 out of 10 face-offs and the other team gains control of the puck every time.
But other than that i found that the Oilers played very well and had it not been for the Leafs goalie's heroics the score may have very well been similar to the Oilers/Habs game the previous night.
As for the Leafs, strong goaltending has been their story all season long and Frederik Andersen has been the team's MVP thoughout the season. Thankfully the Leafs gave him the night off last night and it didn't hurt them. Mclhinney was nothing short of magnificient and the Leafs really needed him to be great considering Auston Matthews was out with an upper-body injury, suffered with he collided with Morgan Rielly in the third period of Saturday night's game.
Nice seeing Gretzky and Coffee watching the game together. Even nicer was seeing Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid's fathers watching the game together in one of the private booths and McDavid's dad congratulating Mr. Matthews once the game was over.
