Bwhahahahahaah, na, not at all, it is what it is and steve Y had it made in the shade, thus thats why he took the Tampa job, plain and simple. He is a smart guy, that i will give him, but the foundation was already there, all he did was hire a few guys but give ANY gm the guys he already had and your way ahead of a complete tear down and rebuild. The Team he inherited was good, it is just management was always fighting from within.

Burke is well on pace as this will be his 3rd full season coming and is way ahead of what most say takes 5 years to rebuild a team, let alone from scratch like he is doing, so playoffs this year should be a given, and if not for a bad start, they would of snuck in after 2 years under Burke, but thems the breaks, then contending soon after, Watch and see.. Like i said the only real mistake Burke made was thinking he had enuff of a foundation when he got here to contend right away, but he soon realised that wasnt the case, and has regrouped to change that. Year three is about to begin with the draft in a little over 3 weeks :thumb:

As far as Wilson goes, how do you, me, or anyone else know what kind of relationship he has with his players behind the scenes? Apparently it is a pretty good one or they would of quit a long time ago on him, and not had one of the best records in the entire NHL the last 35 games of this season. You dont get over 600 victories in the NHL by luck, so lets see what he can do when Burke gives him the final few pieces needed to contend, this summer hopefully.

Such a hater lgna69xxx

U got it all wrong... Burkie had a cream puff job. He basically walked into the Hky equiv of Brian Cashman's job in Toronto and has disappointed for 3 yrs!

Stevie Y set up show in TB and plugged the holes he had to - righted a sinking ship + exited the postseason after gm7 of the Eastern Conf FInals. Nice GMing.

Now if Burkie could just can his buddy Wilson, the job is 50% done in TO. Simple as that. Ask Lou L how effective a coaching change can be. :)

Dragged me back to the NHL thread eh!? :)

Well, it's true Leaf players never quit on Wilson... but that's because they never bought in in the 1st place. Now, Ronnie was good at 1-time... circa 1999-2001 Caps. I don't count his Sharks yrs because he was given a Lightning team so any human with a mouth wouldve succeeded in SJ 2002-08, even John MacLean! lol

Yea, that other thread is for Lord Stanley's Cup. I think Wilson is a good coach and doesnt get a fair shake in the centre of the Hockey Universe, aka, Toronto. He is a tough hard nosed coach but when he gets the most out of his players and they start to win, i have a feeling he is one of the most loyal guys you could ever play for. Sort of like a Bill Parcells type of coach. He doest give a crap how people see him, including the players and you either play hard or your gone, alot of young players can benefit from a guy like that. Anyways, lets see what happens when Burke gets him a couple more players they lack, then if Wilson does not lead them to the playoffs, then he needs to go, but i doubt that is gonna happen anytime soon :thumb:

You might wanna re read what i wrote instead of playing your "twisting" games like you love to do, and seem to do in just about every thread you post on these days.

Ask any player who played for the Giants under Parcells and a overwhelming majority, IF NOT 100% would say the same about the man as what i wrote, that he is a tough SOB but gets the most out of his players, and hey, the players didnt have to love the guy, but they did need to give their all or they would of been cut or benched. All i did was compare him to Wilson being the old school tough on his players type of coach, but probably has a great relationship with them that we never get to see behind the scenes. I had a coach like that so i know how it works. I was not talking about loyalty to the patriots and could care less about that part of his coaching life. get a grip boy.

Bill Parcells negotiated with the Jets for a contract WHILE he was supposed to be preparing the Patriots for Super Bowl XXXI against the Packers. That's not loyalty, it's being a selfish scumbag who betrayed his team at the ultimate moment.

Cheer Merlot

Welcome back c, now dont go crazy and start posting 16 posts in 10 minutes like your unraveling days before... you ok now? better? good :thumb:

steve y gets credit for one thing, hiring a 41 year old Roloson who if he did not stand on his head, tampa would of not even made the playoffs. More like good for Rollie and not steve y Rollie actually made steve y look good. Wonder if he gets re signed?

I wonder who Vinny L is getting traded to because no way they can keep him and sign Stamkos to a 7-9 million a season deal this summer. No way Tampa can afford to keep those 2 and St Louis.
Can't argue with anything you wrote, but please have some sympathy for lg. It's clear that he could not understand the post he quoted, but if someone explained it to him I'm sure he would retract his response.
