Hello Joe.t,
What a nutsy piece of work you are. Do you ever know what you are talking about???
Okay pal, can you explain who Halladay and Halliday are? Are you talking about two people including Holliday or do you just not know what you are saying? AND, what about 2010??? I would hate to run into the kids who went to your school where you were taught numbers and the sequence of the years. Or maybe you are just conceding 2010. Duh!
What a call by you.
It looks like Halladay, not Halliday or Holliday, is headed to Philly, and Lackey is headed to the Red Sox. Good one Mr. Baseball Wiz.
What a two-face jewel you are. First, you're busting to get Halladay or Lackey, and now that the Yankees may not get either you want to tear them down. And when an ERA "drops" it's good thing. When it rises it's bad. Where did you learn English...in Tibet!
If all of this is true about Halladay going to Philly and Lackey going to the Red Sox it's the best of both worlds. As I understood from WEEI this afternoon Lackey only costs his salary. The Sox don't have to trade away valuable prospects (as they would have to for Halladay) they can now still use for the possibility of other trades, though I am not generally in favor of trading very valuable prospects unless it's for a proven high producing pickup. Also with Halladay going to the National League the benefit to the Sox is obvious.
I am definitely NOT going to throw out a bunch of Joe.tisms about these likely deals or get fan-drunk like EB and tout Epstein to be a genius because of this. These deals won''t solve the Red Sox key problem of getting the decisive hitters they need. Their worst problem area is still a power shortage in the clutch. But getting Lackey would be the best to hope for in the pitching area. It's a very good outcome.
Cheers,
Merlot
